New camera apps aren't the only changes included on the official Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for Sony Xperia SP. Sony did improve the user interface, themes and even loading icon for most functions. Here is the sneak peek of Xperia SP owners should check on their smartphones running Android 4.3.

Sony Xperia SP Rooting Guide for Jellybean 4.3(Unlocked Bootloader Only)

This guide exists to help you root your phone and only that. If your phone gets hard bricked I will not be held responsible use this guide with care

This is a guide for Xperia SP users to root 0.266 firmware (Jellybean 4.3) using Doomlords method! UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER ONLY !!!

Before proceding with the installation make sure you have the drivers needed for flashtool

First of all you need and unlocked bootloader!!!! THIS IS CRUCIAL IF YOUR BOOTLOADER IS LOCKED THE ROOTING PROCCESS WONT WORK AND YOUR PHONE WILL GET INTO A BOOTLOOP

Software Needed:
1) Sony Update Service (SUS) (Download Link)
2) Flashtool (Download Link)

Hardware you will need:
1) Xperia SP with 4.3 STOCK
2) USB Cable

Files you will need:
1) Doomlord's Kernel Including CWM (Download Link)
2) UpdateSuperSu.zip Download Link
3) Busybox Download Link


After you have an unlocked bootloader
1) The first thing you need to do is to back up every important item or app (contacts will be lost if not synched with google account) in your internal SD card
2) Connect your phone to your PC via usb and transfer the UpdateSuperSU.zip in your External SD card
3) After the Backup you open flashtool
4) Power Off the device
5) Connect it into your PC via usb WHILE PRESSING THE VOLUME UP BUTTON
6) In flashtool --> Flash device (lightning button) --> fastboot mode
7) A window will pop up select "Select kernel to flash" under the tag " By Doomlord"
8) After that another window will pop up
9) Select the directory where you saved Doomlords kernel file (Number 1 in the download list)
10) Then it will automaticaly flash the data itself
11) After finished it should say disconnect the phone in the flashtool log
12) Disconnect the phone and power it up
13) When you see the Sony Logo spam the volume up button
14) After a while it should get into CWM recovery (here you navigate with the volume and power buttons,Volume Up = UP , Volume Down = Down , Power Button = Select)
15) Once inside the recovery sellect install zip
16) Then your external sd card (mine is labeled as "sdcard1")
17) Navigate throught your External Sd till you find the UpdateSuperSU.zip you put in here a few minutes back
18) After that you will select the zip and go to the "Yes" option to flash it
19) After the flashing is done you will select "reboot system"
20) And thats it you are now running 4.3 rooted with CWM Congrats

Now as Doomlord suggests you should probably install busybox.
Thats easy after you boot your phone go to PlayStore and install the installer then open the app select install busybox and you are done.

natry nyo na yung rooting method? alam ko dapat ifflash mu muna yung firmware ng non lte bago maroot,, guys wala ba isyu yung sp nyo sa touch pag nilalapag sa flat surface?

wala naman po. fixed na ata sa software update. pero dko lang alam, bka di affected phone ko hehehe nung nkapgupdate ako ska ko lang naalala na my touch issue pla kya dko alam kung fixed tlga sa firmware update. so far dko pa natry yung rooting method, LTE kasi tong aken, ngaantay nlng ako ng ms mdali. gumagawa na ata si doom eh hehehe

hehehe, matagal ko rin inipon to tol kasi gusto ko na talaga mapalitan N8 ko because of the purple tint problem. Sa hot gadgets ako bumili. okay yung baterry nya, matagal malowbat, lagpas isang araw saakin texting, mga about 40 mins call, soundtrip(radio and music player), etc

natatakot ako magroot, baka masira. first android device ko kasi to. noob pa ako dito hahaha. so far wala namang ganung issue saakin. at sana walang ganung issue.

so guys good news! we have a new exploit working for our Xperia devices!

i have successfully ported it for the devices i have/use... it was ported to android by hiikezoe but it was a HUGE pain trying to get every address involved... HUGE thanks to fi01 for helping out understand the whole process and giving a great walkthrough as to how to port new devices to it!



[ NOTE ]

this WILL WORK on both LOCKED & UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER DEVICES!

This exploit is VERY SPECIFIC to the customization and the kernel used! please check the "tested on" section to see on which device this exploit will work...

we are working to make this exploit more generic...


[ how to root ]

just download the file, extract it completely using winzip/winrar
go to the folder where its extracted and execute "RUNME.bat"
read and follow the instructions on the screen!
REBOOT THE DEVICE AFTER THE SCRIPT HAS FINISHED EXECUTION!

well... magkaiba sila ng baseband kaya baka mawala ang LTE support mo until makapag-flash ka ng para talaga sa LTE version

meron din walang LTE bro, yung C5302, pg LTE C5303. regarding sa cases ngorder lang ako sa internet, nilkin case. trip ko lang kasi ang nilkin hehe

bro sabi kasi ni doomlord pwede daw icroosflash ang c5302 sa c5303 kung gusto mu daw maroot yung c5303 which is lte version may nakagawa na din dun sa sp threads pero parang di ata gagana yung lte

wait natin yung next update ni doomlord baka sa v15 kasama na c5303 ng SP may nagbigay na kasi ng kernel.sin at buildprop , wahh gusto ko din ng rooted sp para ma backup ko mga games at apps ko na nanggaling sa xperia p ko hehe

pag nagroot ka tol pafeedback ha. hehehe.

bakit pala ganun? diba 1gb ang ram ng sp? bakit kapag nagpunta ako sa settings>apps>running, kapag pinag add mo yung free at used RAM, 766MB lang? tsaka may mga times pala na kapag iuunlock ko phone ko, black lang ang screen, so i have to press the unlock button 3 times para mag appear screen at makapag swipe to unlock ako
