CLOYXKRIZH's Guide to beautifying your Cherry Mobile Flare
Requirements:
a. Your phone must be rooted. (Steps on how to root is in another thread)
b. You must have the correct drivers for the CM Flare. (Driver links are in another thread).
There are many ways to modify your CM Flare to suit your personality. We will tackle the various tweaks and apps that will help you achieve this.
CAUTION: Kung nagdadalawang isip kayo na gawin yung steps, I am not forcing you to do these steps. Be careful when flashing new stuff to your phone, always have a backup and ALWAYS double-check any changes to your system files (especially build.prop) because a mistake may cause bricking.
1. Changing the Boot Splash Image
-When you boot your phone, the first thing that gets shown is the Cherry Mobile image logo. This is called the Boot Splash Image and this is different from the boot animation. The boot animation is the moving picture, which will be tackled on number 2.
a. Download AIO_Flasher from <click here for link>
b. Open the program
c. Boot your phone into flashboot mode (Shutdown phone then Hold the power and vol up button until screen becomes green then release the buttons.)
d. Connect your phone to your computer using USB cable.
e. Wait for it to be detected. If the computer prompts you to install the ADB driver, use the "recommended" option.
f. Select the Splash Image Option
g. Choose select file. Select your .img file. (You can get the .img file from the internet, or you can make your own - this will be tackled later.)
h. Check the erase box.
i. Click "Flash" and wait for it to be completed.
Once completed, reboot the phone to enjoy your new Splash image!
!!Steps on how to make your own .img file.
-based on experience, hindi gumagana yung splash image maker ng AIO so kailangan natin ng kaunting butingting para gumawa ng sariling splash.img.
a. Create a 480x800 jpg image and rename this splash.jpg (This will be the splash image). Thanks kay robzeplyn07 for correction
b. Save this in the same folder as AIO Flasher.
c. Download ffmpeg (<click here for link>)
d. Extract the file and find the "ffmpeg.exe", copy and paste this into AIO flasher folder.
e. Open Command Line (Start>Run then type cmd)
f. Drag the ffmpeg.exe into the command line (Lalabas dyan C:/AIO/ffmpeg.exe or depende kung san nyo linagay yung ffmpeg.exe)
g. Now type the following. <C:/AIO/ffmpeg.exe -i splash.jpg -f rawvideo -pix_fmt rgb565 C:/splash.img>
(Tanggalin ang <>, wag ng itype yung C:/AIO/ffmpeg.exe)
After ng command na yan, lalabas na yung splash.img sa C:. Hanapin ito and enjoy!
2. Changing the boot animation/shutdown animation/sound
-And default boot animation ng CM Flare ay yung cherry mobile logo. Para palitan ito using a custom animation, follow these steps.
a. Download ka ng malupit-lupit na animation (Hanap kayo sa androidbootanimation.com or XDA, etc.) and make sure that it is .ZIP
b. Rename this to bootanimation.zip (smallcaps lahat)
c. Download ES File Explorer/Astro/Root explorer to your phone. Copy-paste bootanimation.zip to /system/media. Overwrite. NOTE: Kailangan ROOTED ang phone mo and may permission yung file explorer na magpaste sa root directory.
Congrats! Iba na boot animation ng phone mo! Kung yung shutdown animation naman yung gusto mo rename mo into shutdownanimation.zip instead of bootanimation.zip. Enjoy.
Para naman sa boot sound, palitan mo lang ang poweron.mp3 and poweroff.mp3 sa /system/media. Make sure na 5-8 seconds lang ang sound. Kung buong kanta ilalagay mo, prepare to listen to that bago magbukas phone mo.
3. Changing the model number and manufacturer
-Kung mahilig ka gumamit ng Play Store gamit ng PC, mapapansin mo na ID ng CM Flare according sa Google ay "Unknown S100". Pwede natin ito palitan into Cherry Mobile Flare or CM Flare. Hindi naman ito required or crucial, but it's nice to look at.
a. Download ES File explorer/astro/etc.
b. Go to /system/ at buksan ang build.prop using a note editor. CAUTION: Ang build.prop ay ang ID ng phone mo. Wag basta-basta palitan ang kahit anong value, kundi baka di mo na mabuksan phone mo.
c. Hanapin ang ro.product.model=S100. Pwede nyong palitan ang S100 into Flare or kahit anong trip mo.
d. Hanapin ang ro.product.manufacturer=unknown. Palitan ito ng Cherry Mobile or CM or kahit anong trip mo. Okay lang kahit may spaces. Salamat kay amao10 for correcting me.
COngrats! Okay na yung name ng phone mo.
4. Changing Launchers
-Sawa ka na ba apps arrangement/icons/colors ng flare mo? Palitan mo yung Launcher! Ito yung mga Launcher na natry ko na at rinerecommend. Pwede ka maginstall ng themes, palitan ang kulay ng text at iba pa!
a. ADW Launcher (Ito gamit ko at the moment. Free ito pero merong paid version, ADW Launcher EX ang pangalan)
b. Nova Launcher
c. Go Launcher Ex
d. ProLauncher
e. Marami pang iba. Explore!
5. Changing Font Style
-Ang Flare ay walang option na palitan ang fonts (incompatible ata?). But don't worry! Pwede natin ito palitan. Siguraduhin na may backup ka ng phone mo if by chance ay mapatay mo sya habang naglalagay ng bagong font kasi maaaring mabrick ang phone mo.
a. Download Font Installer app.
b. Choose from the various fonts.
c. Select and press install.
d. If prompted to create a backup, click BACKUP.
e. Reboot and your done!
6. Adding widgets
-Ito yung mga widgets na customizable at pwedeng pagandahin to suit everything you want and need!
a. UCCW (Very awesome app to create custom widgets, pwede maglagay ng battery bar, battery circle, custom text and etc.)
b. Minimalist Text (Pwede kang gumawa ng customized widget na text lang ang nakalagay. Sounds plain pero when used properly, pwedeng maging artwork ang homescreen mo.
c. Desktop Visualizer (Pwede ka gumamit ng kahit anong image, whether it be a comic book strip or picture, pwede mong gawin custom shortcut.)

7. How to change capacitive button functions for CM Flare
- Gusto mo ba palitan yung function ng search button to camera or music or call? Pwede na ngayon!
a. Download ng root browser/ES/Astro
b. Puntahan ang /system/usr/keylayout
c. Ibackup ang qwerty.kl at Generic.kl dahil ito ang babaguhin natin.
d. Buksan ang Generic.kl at hanapin ang "key 217 SEARCH". Pwede nyo baguhin yung "SEARCH" into "CAMERA" or "MUSIC" or "CALL". Marami pang ibang functions. Google is your best friend.
e. Gawin din sa qwerty.kl ang ginawa sa Generic.kl. Hanapin ang "key 217 SEARCH" at baguhin ito. Magkaparehas dapat sila ng changes.
f. Reboot phone and enjoy!
NOTE: Pwedeng ibang buttons ang baguhin. key 139 is MENU key, key 158 is BACK key.
