Hi lurking here lang naman.. just wondering if may chance pa ako sa I.T .. also graduated as an it kaso di masyado pnalad sa job hunting so napunta ako sa bpo... at nag freelance na din taga reformat lol. its been 3years na din. So sawa na ako sa mga irate clients at bored na sa kakasalita..

gzto ko ulit bumalik sa pagiging it.. kaso di ko na masyado gamay yung napagaralan ko dati.. so tanong ko lang san ako mag sisimula mag review. btw 27 na me kya pa ba? or pursue nalang d2 sa bpo? sorry if offtopic sa thread

Ok yan still practiced mo pa din pala kahit simple installation lang ginagawa mo. Question is pag nag install ka ng mga PC may curiosity ka pa din ba to make it better? Like for example may PC na mababa ang hardware specs may idea ka ba para magamit ito ng di babagal ng husto sa normal use of course?

Bakit ko ito naitanong? Kasi yan ang bumubuhay sa gusto ko mag stay sa profession na ito. Also if there is a need ng client may bagong palaisipan paano gagawin. Also I do experiment do integrate things na abot ng kamay ko like I am an open source user kung saan gamit ko Samba4 as my AD/DC sa network.
Ikaw ano ang trip mo sa larangan na ito habang wala pa si pagkakataon?

Gusto ko kase pag-aralan yung Windows Active Directory or more on handling Windows Server. Tanong ko lang po ano yung usually na ginagamit or setup sa mga company in reality? Example AD DS, File redirection, internal dns & exchange server. Ano ano po kaya? Para ma-focusan ko. Gusto ko rin po kase magka background sa System Administration.

Im Currently I hired as an IT Technician. More on network administration po and minimal Help desk support. Gusto ko po ma-expand yung knowledge ko para makapag boost ng confidence ko mag Apply sa Iba. Feel ko po kase na underpaid ako hehe. Earning 17k a month as of today, started as 10k dated 2015.

My current responsibilities/task:
Acting Team Leader on our IT Department
Network Administration: Handling Cisco, Mikrotik, HP/Aruba routers and switches. (Configuration from scratch | Natuto kaka-google at youtube hehe No CCNA Training taken yet.)
Build up and maintaining the enterprise E-mail server.
Maintaining the On-premise ERP system
Rough-In installation of network infra and CCTV or Camera surveillance
Help desk support

By the way, the reason why I dont have that confidence to apply sa iba is because I only graduated on a 2 year course. (Computer Programming NCIV, but didnt get a chance to take NCIV exam due to TESDA remove it on our school)

Ako din 2yr course lang din tinapos ko. I also feel like you na under paid ako kasi hawak ko lahat ng branch at sister companies besides sa main office namin. But still I do my own setup to improve myself habang nandito.
Basta gawin mo na lang tuloy mo yung experimentation mo. Tama naman ang tinatahak mo at ok na din yan so far.
Wag ka panghinaan ng loob sa skills mo at natural lang na habang dumadaan ang panahon ang pakiramdam mo konti pa din yung nalalaman mo. Pero kung sum up mo sila eh madami na pala. Also sa panahon ngayon risky maghanap ng ibang trabaho pero kung sa tingin mo matatanggap ka go for it.

Dito sa tanong mo na:

As usual ang sagot sa tanong mo is yung paid type ang setup or in other words yung m$ mismo ang gamit ng mga company. Ilan lang ang nasa open source path ang setup like dito sa akin kasi ako nag implement ng AD/DC ko using Samba4. Pero in general sa m$ ka. Dami dito na Lydia ba yun na tutorial. Hanap mo lang. Tapos setup ka ng Virtualbox para libre.

Hmm... yeah in a way i guess i always find things to improve on low spec units to make them workable at least... In a way i can describe my current skills as an I.T technician (mid lvl i guess but want to learn server management), never got to improve myself since i landed on a BPO job after graduation, but i would like to shift careers if possible. If i going to switch i need to gather information on whats needed to learn(latest tech) on the job that i want to get in but of course that would take a lot of time since I'm gonna be learning from scratch. I'm 27 right now since im currently working, i can only apply my tech knowledge on weekends(maybe give myself 2years of self learning).

My dilemma right now
Is it possible for me to land an I.t entry job at 29?
Should i quit the bpo right now review for 6 months then go for a it tech job(if its this one i need to know what to learn)?
Or should i stay in the bpo career?

OFW ako ng 10 years sa middle east. I was 22 nung nag abroad. I quit and stayed home for good after 10 years. Thinking na 32 years old na ako paano ulit ako magsisimula. 10 years IT sa ibang bansa then you need to start all over again sa Pinas.. Nakakuha ng traho as an IT entry Job. 20k is not bad though. As i can tell you requirements here in PH is so HIGH than sa bansa na pinag trabahuhan ko dati. Naging manager after 5 years partida pa wala akong Certification like Comptia or so whatever.

Meron akong staff matanda pa sakin ng dalawang taon still pinatos pa din ung entry job galing syang BPO to be honest he is damn good kahit wala sya masyadong experience.

Payo ko... JUST DO IT!!

Hi pa tambay din po. I studied IT before mga 2011 kaso d napalaran kaya nasa ibang field ako nakahanap ng trabaho . pero ngayon Nagpapart-time at isa ako sa mga it staff ng isang maliit na company at ngayon nagplaplano mag expand sa esl. medyo nag aadjust pa nman at parang back to zero ako ulit.

yup tama si sir HicapMichael! Backup is very important. In addition to rules ask mo HR kung ano dapat limitations ng employees para mapaliwanag bakit need ng restrictions.

Ang pydio tol para siyang dropbox na self hosted mo. Kumbaga cloud sya pero nasa premisses mo yung server, hawak mo yung control. hindi na cya dadaan ng internet. kumbaga para kang may sariling dropbox na nasa LAN mo.
Anyway may idea ka na ba tol sa LAMP or WAMP?, pwede kita matulungan panu maginstall ng sarili mong cloud.

Usually training sa employees to avoid getting victim of phishing or other social engineering attacks at implementation ng two-factor authentication sa company accounts ilan lang to sa mga dapat priority ng companies.
