u mean galing sa hard drive ang installer? --> inde kasi ung current working o.s. ang magboboot. if sa cd drive or any allowed removable media pwede.

if successfully na-install mo another windows, pagkatapos ng POST messages etc.. papipiliin ka kung ano magboboot na una; ung dati mong o.s. o ung bago.

if mag iinstall ka ng 2 same o.s. meaning katulad ng o.s. mo,, maaaring magkaproblem ka sa boot-up baka masira mo pa o.s. mo kasi baka hindi supported ng bios..

mas mabuti kung mag-install ka ng ibang version ng o.s. kahit same platform(win of mac).

bat walang DVDRom ang laptop mo or wala kang external DVDromdrive?

Pwede yun in a sense, kasi nagawa ko yun dati gamit ang mga tuts na nakita ko sa web.

basically kase old laptop na hindi nag susuport ng pag boot sa USB at sira cdrom

so pinarttiton in 2 yung isa bootable na DOS at copy yung winXP installer tas boot yon tas enter ko yung mga command sa dos (i think para magkaroon ng extra memory para mahandle yung installation) at inexecute yung xp intaller at yun

Are you trying to make it Multiboot?

To answer you
Yes
when you run Windows Vista or 7 ( this doesnt work on XP)
on the desktop
using either roxio or magic or whichever you preffer

It would boot the shadowcopy
meaning the bootable CD is now running on x:

now it would provide you with the option of
formatting the harddrive.
cause the OS that is being used is not being run from the drive itself

if however your goal is just to add another OS making it multi boot.
hence the partition

you start with creating the partition
formatting the said partition you want to install the new OS in
then just run it from your desktop.

but everything depends on what youre trying to install and what youre trying to do.
which would lead to more questions since installing an two different OS on a PC is always possible the question is stability

cause if your specs aint up to it.
then it aint worth having that and you might as well just use a vurtual machine if you seriously want to have 2 different OS

old laptop po kasi 2 ndi support un usb boot kht external cdrom ndi nya support tpos un cdrom na internal cra po ambagal na ng os naka intall puro virus na po need ko na reformat @happydance

4. Install DOS 7.10 onto the disk

5. Copy smartdrv.exe to the root directory

6. Copy the I386 folder from the Windows XP installation CD to the hard drive (put it in a folder called I386 as well)

7. Unplug the hard disk from the backup pc.

8. Install the hard disk into the pc/notebook which doesn’t have a floppy or cd-rom drive.

9. Start up the pc and DOS 7.10 should load up automatically

10. In the c:\> prompt, type “smartdrv” (without quotes) and press enter

11. Then in the c:\> prompt, type c:\I386\winnt.exe

12 The Windows XP installation should start up and you’re ready to go

it should go, but why dont you just run it through a magic disk? its the same as having an actual ROM
