I'd choose MSI because of the newer and faster cpu (though marginal )
Asus compensated for a higher SSD storage and better display w/ IPS & G-SYNC... this could be a factor to you.

are you looking at an online store or a retailer? most shops here in uae lets you fiddle around with the laptops. you should double check it. you can see what cpu it is thru the system summary or device manager. if it is 7th gen then i'd take the asus too because of gsync and larger capacity ssd.
