Fictional character biography
Black Manta had no definitive origin story until #6 of the 1993 Aquaman series. In this origin, the boy who would become Black Manta grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, and loved to play by the Chesapeake Bay. As a youth he was kidnapped and forced to work on a ship for an unspecified amount of time, where he was sexually abused by his captors. At one point, he saw Aquaman with his dolphin friends and tried to signal him for help but was not seen. As an adult, the man who would become Black Manta designed a costume (primarily a black wetsuit with a bug-eyed helmet, that was able to shoot rays from its eyes) and fashioned a high-tech submersible inspired by manta rays. Taking the name Black Manta, he and his masked army became a formidable force, engaging in at least one unrecorded clash with Aquaman prior to his first appearance as a rival to the Ocean Master (and before joining the short-lived Injustice League in the retcon Silver Age third week event).
His first name, David, is revealed in the 2010 Brightest Day storyline, although his last name has not been revealed.[1]
Black Manta and Aquaman battled repeatedly over the next several years. During one of these clashes,[5] it is revealed that Black Manta is actually black, whose stated objective at one point was for black people to dominate the ocean after having been oppressed for so long on dry land (though this goal was revealed to be a ruse he used to trick Cal Durham into following him, and this objective was not at all evident in either his earlier or later appearances). During most of his appearances, his main goals are defeating Aquaman and gaining power for himself through the conquest of Atlantis. Finally, Manta kills Arthur Curry, Jr., Aquaman's son, which leaves Aquaman obsessed with revenge.[2][5]
Black Manta is later transformed into a manta/man hybrid, though after a while he returns to wearing his original outfit, which covers his new appearance. At one point he engages in drug smuggling from his new base in Star City, where he is opposed by a returning Green Arrow and Aquaman.
In a later confrontation, Aquaman, sporting the Lady of the Lake's Healing Hand, reverses the alterations to Black Manta and rewires Manta's afflicted brain, making him neurotypical for the first time in his life. Unfortunately, Manta remains a violent criminal, lulling Aquaman into a false sense of partnership and almost killing the Sea King in the process.
In later events, Black Manta is used as a genetic manipulation test subject to make water breathers. This succeeds; since then, Black Manta has returned to the oceans to face Aquaman once again.
Black Manta causes a disturbance in Sub Diego in which Captain Marley is severely injured.[6] Aquaman summons various predatory sea-life to attack Black Manta and leaves him for dead. It is later revealed that Black Manta was able to survive by generating an electric charge with his suit.
One Year Later, he overtakes Sub Diego but is forced to flee when King Shark bites off his face.[7]
When Aquaman dies at the end of the 2003 series, Black Manta begins working for Libra as part of the Secret Society of Super Villains. However, after Libra betrays the group and helps Darkseid conquer the Earth, Black Manta quits.

"Look, I get it. People love Kevin Conroy. He's most people's favorite Batman (even though he's just a voice actor). But c'mon man... can he really say anything after what happened in "The Killing Joke"?
People want to make a big deal about Batman in BvS killing? First of all, he's a broken man in BvS who has seen too much and pushed to his limit all before the sky fell down with aliens. Then he happens to be on a time crunch to save Clark's mom so he does what is necessary to save her. It's also called character development and a story arc. His hate for Superman turned into hope for humanity by the end of the film.
Some people are going to get mad at this part, but let's be realistic for a second. If someone else were to have voiced Batman: The Animated Series in 1992 and not Kevin Conroy, everyone would be saying that guy is the "real" Batman. We hold onto him for nostalgia, not because nobody else can do the part. I personally like Bruce Greenwood's Batman voice more than Conroy's... so what?!?!
At the end of the day, this is just another actor who was asked a question he shouldn't have been asked and he should have known his answer would become a big deal to many even though is shouldn't matter. Voicing Batman doesn't mean his word is gospel, because Diedrich Bader voiced him too and that guy is a goofball.
I have no real issues with Conroy at all. I think he should stick to the cartoons though and leave live action out of his conversations because he doesn't have a clue. Newflash! Keaton's Batman dropped little bombs and blew people away in a warehouse. He also killed the Joker. Kilmer's Batman killed Two-Face. Bale's Batman killed Two-Face, Talia and Ra's. And Clooney's Batman killed the movie franchise for 8 years. So before making a big deal about a Batman who kills in BvS, which is explained and somewhat justified and course corrected by the end of the film, do some homework and understand that this is nothing new. Batman killing goes back to his earliest days while carrying a guy and pushing people off roof tops.
Thank you Kevin Conroy for being so involved with Batman and DC for 24 years. This isn't about hating the man. It's about who we are accepting criticisms from and why 99% of them should be ignored."

One other reason is that some artist tend to get full of themselves. Nakakalimutan nilang actor Lang sila at hinde mismo ang character. May kasalanan din dito ang mga troll at fanboys ni Conroy na nilalagay sa pedestal words niya

It's known that the budget for Suicide Squad is 175 million. Do you think a movie that cost 175 million to make needs to make 800 million to break even?
No. A movie can start to make a profit once the budget of the film has doubled meaning that Suicide Squad needs to make 350 million to break even and anything after that is a profit for WB/DC. "Oh but what about the marketing and bla bla bla" Okay all of a sudden all of that matters when it comes to DC movies, eh? Okay here's the basic math. Just add 100 million to the budget since the usual marketing for a film is 100 million (so I've heard)
So when you add 100 million to 175 million the total comes to 275 million, right? Alright then just double that. 275 million x 2 = 550 million. There, done. It needs to make 550 million to break even when you include the marketing BS that every anti DC person says it needs. If you remove that, it just needs 350 million to break even. Anything after 350/550 million is a profit for the studio. Now you know that the 800 million to break even is complete and utter crap.
Ya know, it's funny how when it comes to DC films, the media is so desperate to report negative things about the film, studio, actors, and everything. Just take a look at the yellow highlighted area. It says that while Suicide Squad remains #1 at the box office, it has dropped in viewers. Umm yeah that's cause the film has been out for 11 days. Obviously after a few days it's not gonna have the same amount of people going to see the film as when it first came out opening weekend. They take a positive and try to say something negative just like the thing I pointed out. Don't fear for anything. With just three movies, the DCEU has made over 2 billion dollars and it's still going strong. The fans and general audience like the movies and that's what matters in the end, not what some grumpy and senile critic says or any of what the biased media says. Suicide Squad is already making a profit (or close to making a profit) in just 11 days!
