Re: DICT - ICT Proficiency Exam

Im also interested ; bro can you ping me too if you ever found any info

Re: DICT - ICT Proficiency Exam

Somehow managed to read the guidelines and the scope of the exam. Same sila na may theoretical assessment, SDLC, written exam (multiple choice / essay). I'll give you a glimpse of TESDA NCIV certification:

TESDA exam: (2 days or roughly mga 18-20 hours)

- theoretical / written (multiple choice / essay type) / oral exam which would easily eat up about 4 hours out of the possible 18-20 hours
- consists of 2 certifications (COC 1 and 2, COC = Certificate of Competency)

- COC1 = Competency in Object Oriented Programming
- COC2 = Competency in Procedural Programming

- before you start programming, magde-design ka muna ng normalized database, draw a flowchart of the system, then program na, <- you have to do this twice, dahil nga 2 systems ang gagawin mo, 1 per ceritication (see above)

- failing both, after 6 months ka pa uli makakapag-retake ng exam.

Re: DICT - ICT Proficiency Exam

kakatake ko lang nyan... Buti nakapasa :)

Re: DICT - ICT Proficiency Exam

Bali dalawang exam yun. Written tsaka Hands-On..Libre lang yung Assessment, pag nakapasa ka sa written saka ka nila pag ttake ng hands-on Php500. Examinees may use any of the following programming languages:
i) C Language or C#
ii) C++
iii) Java
iv) Visual Basic

Re: DICT - ICT Proficiency Exam

Wut? Talagang palindrome test lang talaga? Bakit may apat na modules?

Re: DICT - ICT Proficiency Exam

HI... ask ko lang po if.. NC2 po ba ito?

Re: DICT - ICT Proficiency Exam

Hello mga ka-symb, sino na sa inyo yung nakapag take ng exam ng DICT na 'to for Programming? Any tips? Hehe, balak ko sana mag take tas C# as preferred language.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/csharp/programming-guide/

kung gusto mo magtraining JAVA lang daw available ngayon year sa kanila. kasi yung C# last year inoffer.

KAsi may apat na klase silang binigay na Palindrome:
"is not a palindrome." if the string is not a palindrome and is not a mirrored string
"is a regular palindrome." if the string is a palindrome and is not a mirrored string
"is a mirrored string." if the string is not a palindrome and is a mirrored string
"is a mirrored palindrome." if the string is a palindrome and is a mirrored string

Errrr, I was thinking of something more difficult when you said na may 4 modules. Anyway, bakit parang mas madali sya as compared dun sa TESDA? I'm assuming na mas mahirap ito dahil for government posts ang mga dapat na mag-take nito, at ang TESDA certifications ay for students.

Re: DICT - ICT Proficiency Exam

What i know about this exam: (SORRY FOR MY typing/grammar errors)

I have tried many times(3). But for me almost passing (but not)daw lahat ng scores ko .. i have training in java so i select it as preferred language. unfortunately , di tlga makaya ang exam cause the written one is general (just study ICT matters), such binary code, conversion to all number system.

On the other hand, i have friends who also tried to join me in taking all of the exams(meaning they took also as many as mine),they convince me for the re-training of java as offered by DICT(with payment of course). I didnt join them for i know my training is enaf(laki ng pride) only no focus on studying/preparing with the exam. Luckily after their training with DICT they passed(given an EDP certificate).

AS ADVICE: be in the shoes of my friends, dont follow my mistakes.

Re: DICT - ICT Proficiency Exam

Nakapagtake na ako at fortunately nakapasa ako Caraga Region passers #14, para sa akin simple ang exam for Hands-on part kasi logical base lang sya for C# language, natapos ko nga sya ng morethan 2 hours lang. Wag kayu magtake gamit ng VB kasi malaki yung scope for VB6 baka hindi nyu matapos with in 6hrs.

Re: DICT - ICT Proficiency Exam

Wut? iba iba ang scope per PL? Di yata fair...

Re: DICT - ICT Proficiency Exam

as far as the FAQ is concerned sir magkaiba yung sa TESDA at DICT exams, sa DICT is kelangan ng assessment w/c is the written exam then meron silang Hands-on exam pag nakapasa ka sa assessment. yung assessment is scheduled to be 2hours lang then yung Hands-on ata is more or less 6hours.

Sa mismong hands on na yang Palindrome Test sir? or sa assessment? kasi sabi sa FAQ database and data manipulation at file handling lang?

for the C# sir yung ginawa niyo ba is software or web app? yun kasi isang worry ko kasi medyo mas inclined ako sa web app and MVC.

Thank you for the tip sir, hindi ka pa ba nakakapasa sir? take ka ule malay mo diba.

Re: DICT - ICT Proficiency Exam

Yep, also read the FAQs. I was just stating / thinking TESDA's and DICT's exacts are somehow the same as they both have the written exams, and oral assessments too. They just differ as TESDA requires you to undergo 2 competency exams in 2 different programming languages to pass the assessment as compared to DICT's 1 PL of choice. I assumed that DICT's criteria would be much stiffer than TESDA's as the prior's target examinees are already practicing professionals (government employees) as compared to the latter's (TESDA 2-year grads).

I think that's why school is really different from the real world :)
