Matanong ko lang sa inyo guys kung sino yung may experience dito ng erlang programming language na ginamit ng facebook as their backend para sa chat service nila since 2009? May ginawa kasi akong chat example with private messaginh, broadcast messaging, at storing of chat using mangodb gamit erlang + javascript :) Nais ko sana gawing open source sa github(take note, kung wala kang experience sa functional programmingk, hindi magigign makahulugan tong program na to sayo) para makatulong na din sa inyo hehe. Salamat symb

why did you choose erlang? ano po ba advantage nya over sa iba in your opinion?tsaka based sa pag code nyo sir, ano po ba advantage pag functional programming ang ginamit na technique sa programming?.. curious lang po. salamat

Why choose erlang? Actually it depends kung ano yung gagawin mo PERO yung modern characteristics talga ng erlang is that it can hold multiple parallel concurrent connections. Real life example kung ano yung concurrency is, imagine mo tumitingin ka sa bintana mo, tapos may taong lumalakd, may taong may kasamang aso, may nag bibike, may naglalakad habang kumakanta. Itong mga bagay ang nangyayari at the same time without sharing state or memory(means, hindi sila nag dedepend sa isat isa for short, may sariling mundo kung baga ). Medyo mahirap iexplain pero yun yung pinaka layman term ko :) Erlang is one of the best for holding concurrent connections tulad ng messaging service which holds multiple users. Hindi kataka taka kung bakit the best to para sa messaging service kasi it can hold millions and millions of concurrent connections :)

Search mo sa google, yung Whatapp ginawa gamit erlang :)
