Una sa lahat before tayo pumunta sa mga options let me just ask, why do you need to flash or update your BIOS? If your computer can POST properly, can retain date/time properly (with fresh CMOS battery), and you can change BIOS configuration without any problem, then you don't need to flash or update your BIOS. Just be aware that if your BIOS flash or update fail, it will make your device permanently unusable. Even if you experience any of the issues above, pero dumederetso naman yung boot up mo sa desktop, I still would not advice BIOS flash or update.

But, if you're experiencing any of the problems above and it affects your normal computing activity, then here's what you can do.

Within The BIOS Itself
You can check if there's an option for you to flash the BIOS within the BIOS settings itself. If this option is available in your BIOS, you can just download a BIOS update file from the manufacturer's website in this case ACER and save this file in your USB flash drive. This file usually ends with .bin or .zip extensions. If you don't have the correct file, you will get an error telling you that you don't have the correct update file. Also make sure na walang laman yung USB mo maliban sa update file. And also very important, make sure na nakaplug yung charger ng laptop mo while doing this. If you're laptop loses power while flashing/updating the BIOS -- goodbye laptop. If all is set, you just have to click the update option in the BIOS and look for the USB drive kung nasaan yung update file and then wait for it not interrupting the whole process.

Using External Software
This is a software na usually kasama sa list of drivers for your laptop model. If you search for the driver support, again from the manufacturers website, if there's a "BIOS Update" you will see that on the list. Kung meron nun, you can just download it and run it within Windows. This one is a safer than the first option.

PS: Important. Unless you really know that you're doing, only download BIOS update file from the manufacturer's support website. Maraming website ang magsasabi na okay sila para sa BIOS mo, but then again, if that update fail in the middle of the whole process -- goodbye laptop.

In conclusion, if you can still boot to your Windows OS, there's no need to update or flash the BIOS. Goodluck. Cheers! :)

Depende kung pano nagfail yung BIOS update. Any modern BIOS has a fail safe. For example, kung hindi compatible yung update file mo, sasabihin nya agad sayo and the update will abort right away. Kung okay naman lahat and you're able to start the update process and it gets interrupted somewhere in between, or namatay si laptop or desktop sa kalagitnaan ng BIOS update, then 99.99% your motherboard is dead. And there's no undo for that.

Sa mga laptop naman when it comes to replacing the motherboard, I would say na hindi sya practical. Unless you have an identical unit model at your disposal, replacing laptop logic boards are usually more expensive. Not to mention mahirap talaga sya hanapin. Sa mga service center naman, maliban sa mahal din (if the unit is out of warranty) usually inaabot ng buwan bago mo sya makuha.

Laptop ba yan bossing? Kung laptop yan try mo gumamit ng external monitor. If completely black si screen mo pagboot, at wala kahit anong text na nalabas sa screen, it could be a screen problem. Try mo muna gumamit ng external monitor just to make sure na hindi screen yung issue mo.

Laptop or desktop? Kung desktop yan, reset mo lang yung CMOS sa board thru the CMOS pin. Short mo lang yung dalawan pin na yun or pwede din alisin mo yung CMOS battery then balik mo lang ulit. That should reset your BIOS which would take out any password as well. Kung laptop naman, depende yan sa brand and model ng laptop.
