Guide for installing Arch Linux:
May gamawa na ng installation script for arch linux: http://www.github.com/helmuthdu/aui
Download arch linux: https://www.archlinux.org/download/
Copy the img file to usb using: http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/
boot sa usb -> pili ka ng architecture na gusto mo. i686 (32bit)*2gb of ram below x86_64 (64 bit).*more than 2gb of ram
after booting sa usb
Then follow this guide: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLh44czUea0
Kapag may naencounter kayo na error pede po magtanong dito.

For Gentoo (“If you learn a Linux distro you learn that distro, if you learn Gentoo you learn Linux”) users. May isang indie distro na ang backend is gentoo.

nasasainyo kung gagamitin niyo ung support niya for software or originally using portage. Personally nahihirapan pa ko gumamit ng gentoo, magiinstall lang ako ng google chrome browser o simpleng vlc o jdk, daming configuration and it takes 10 minutes or more for compiling the said software para magamit ng maayos.

Why do some people use such bleeding edge Operating System? Applicable siya sa developers. Arch linux has bleeding edge compilers. But gentoo is much more bleeding edge kasama ang nose bleed.

Great topic! Having been able to use Arch, I'd say Arch is more bleeding edge than Gentoo, but like your last statement, its also my personal opinion. :)

Yet another reason why one would prefer to use bleeding-edge distros is to take advantage of being able to use the most updated Linux kernel. Both Gentoo and Arch are rolling-release Linux systems [SUP][1][/SUP] , meaning, latest palagi ang kernel and in most cases, applications were also updated to work with the latest kernel. Case in point: Linux's latest stable kernel version today is 13.12.2. It was announced on November 29, 2013 [SUP][2][/SUP]. Arch began using it today (just 5 days after) and Gentoo (unstable branch, were using it even a day earlier before Arch) !:excited: Ubuntu Saucy Salamander (the current stable version of Ubuntu) is still on kernel 13.11 and won't be using kernel 13.12 until Ubuntu Trusty Tahr's slated release date April 17, 2014 [SUP][3][/SUP], that's 129 days after 13.12 was released! What!?

For those na bago sa Linux na nagtataka kung bakit ganuon katagal mag update ng kernel ang Ubuntu, its just how Canonical (the company behind Ubuntu) decided it to be. Mas mabilis lang talaga mag-update ang mga rolling-release distro like ArchLinux and Gentoo than those na may sinusunod na release cycles like Ubuntu, Debian, or Fedora.

May script palang ganito, matry nga ito next week sa Arch, hopefully this will reduce the fragmentation I make whenever I install Arch.

Currently i'm using debian std(no X), and im using my system sa business ko.. Ano sa palagay nyo dapat bang palitan ng ARCH yung current OS ko?

Its your discretion. Personally, I would advise you to stick with Debian kase its rock-solid and stable. If you like to use Arch as a production OS, just be to spend a great deal of time to fix your system if ever a system update messed it up. Given my limited knowledge about Arch, (kaka-install ko lang mga 3 days ago) I would not use it "yet" kung meron man akong business, reasons being kailangan mo maging hands-on sa pag maintain ng Arch system, unlike sa Debian, install it then forget it.

As an Arch Linux, I find that the rolling release really is quite handy in most cases though with rolling release comes with bug and dependecy issues, If I would choose from Arch or Gentoo, I'd choose Gentoo over Arch since the USE flags are really quite handy especially if you're into more of the speedy side of GNU/Linux, though you can build from AUR via ABS of ArchLinux the USE Flags of still has the advantage over ABS.

I'm using Arch on my desktop and Funtoo on my ThinkPad.

Hands up to all Minimalist Linux users out there, thinking of installing LFS soon.

To answer the OPs question: I personally use Funtoo [Gentoo with git-based portage] because I can compile and remove unnecessary dependencies, basically customizing the source for my needs, bleeding-edge because I want the newest softwares/programs and compiling on your own system means that the program is optimized for your system since it was compiled using your system resources, this is also the case on why windows uses those "needs a minimal requirement of" stuff because the server that compiled the programs itself used those hardware.
