May iba iba naman ang preference natin talaga... Ako nga PSP talaga hilig ko dati, hindi ko pinapansin yung DS although adik ako sa Pokemon nung GameBoy Advance at Color pa lang meron sila... nung nilabas yung DS, hindi naman ako napabili...

But nung na-try ko talaga yung DS, ayun naadik din ako, nakatambay yung PSP ko ngaun.. Huli kong laro Dante's Inferno at Fat Princess sa PSP... Since natapos ko na DS naman ako...

Ibang ba ang graphics ng mga games sa PSP compared sa DS pero kung titignan mo ang DS, kahit hindi ganun kaganda ang graphics, maraming magandang laruin na hindi mo mahahanap sa PSP...

kung gamer ka talaga mas pipiliin ang gameplay over graphics!!
nintendo ds games is more on gameplay!! entertaining pa mga games
ang problema lang ay wala akong ds!! sa pc ko nilalaro pero nakakatamad sa
pc mas masarap talaga pag sa handheld!!

psp naman nakakatakam talaga sa umpisa yung kaibigan ko nga binenta nya na eh
monster hunter pati burnout lang ata maganda sa psp! yun gow naman parang bitin me sa controls kaya better kung sa ps2 nalang laruin!!

try ka ng homebrews at emulators..siguro di mo lang inexplore ng husto psp mo hehe..

may emulators din sa naman DS which is also a bonus hehe

1. Yes, it's true that you said quality is better than quantity. I'll agree that the PSP has got great games on its belt. But what i meant was the actual GAMING EXPERIENCE. The DS provides us with a gaming experience like no other, with its touchscreen feature. Because of this, it caters to the needs of everybody (yeah, even grandma), not just the hardcore, veteran or just casual gamer.

What's funny is that my wife plays my DS only (she's playing Elite Beat Agents as we speak), she says my PSP is too hardcore for her. Anything that is gaming related that can make a woman smile has to be number one.

Yep thats true, magandang experience yung touchscreen since hindi pa nagagawa dati yun sa mga hand consoles, and pang akit ng nintendo yun for casual gamers, pero may dagdag na din na mga hardcore games din dito

so yeah malamang talo na psp games sa experience with touchscreen support, so +1 for nds

2. You're right, franchises are not the only ones that matter. But its because of these games, of these classics, of these LEGENDS, that we can play and enjoy the games of the modern age. Where do you think most of the games today got their inspiration from? That's right, from the CLASSICS.

Like what i said, the PSP has great games (this means i'm not one sided, because i agree that PSP games are great, right?), but what i meant is that they won't be here if not for the CLASSICS.

If you mean by CLASSICS, did you mean games from old consoles or refurbished games from old consoles? i think sony also have their own set of classics, example is castlevania sotn, kung di dahil sa gameplay nito, hindi magiging ganun yung mga klaseng games na nilalabas ngayon sa mga nintendo consoles, so palagay ko hindi lang sa nintendo pinaghugutan yung mga classics

so +1 to nds and +1 to psp

3. Ok, why the heck would we want to THROW our precious gaming babies? That would be a crime to the gaming community!

4. About the file size thing, i was talking about DOWNLOADING. Of course, the PSP has a bigger file size because it has better graphics, i already knew that. I was merely comparing how long would it take for a DS rom and a PSP ISO/CSO to download.

you need a fast internet speed to download a 1.7gb game, and yeah madami naman na inuupload via torrent or sa mga file hosting site like rapidshare, megaupload, etc

pero naisip ko lang anu, paano kung hindi naimbento yung mga game loader sa mga consoles, ipagcocompare nyu pa rin ba yung file size nun since ang bibilhin natin eh cartridge/umds?

5. Emulators? Heck, did you know the DS has all kinds of emulators? From the Atari 2600 to Super Nintendo to the Gameboy Advance... i believe the PSP can do this as well. The only thing the DS can't emulate would be the PSP, but then again, the PSP can't emulate the DS. Ironic, huh?

hmm did you mean all?? kaya ba niya iemulate yung ps1? hehehe,
ehem, even mga dosbox games kaya na din, maging mga arcades, etc, and even PSP can emulate DS, pero mauulit na naman yung arguments dito na PSP has an overpowerful cpu than the ds, so hanggang dun lang, hehehe

6. Pointing out the painting capabilities of the two handhelds? Nah, i was only saying that this can be done better in the DS because of its stylus. But of course, i'd prefer using PHOTOSHOP than this.

IF YOU ARE A MULTIMEDIA FREAK AND YOU LIKE TO PLAY HD VIDEOS AND LISTEN TO HIGH QUALITY MUSIC, buy the PSP.

IF YOU ARE A TRUE GAMER AND LOVE THE CLASSICS, buy the DS.

BOTH are GREAT SYSTEMS, it's just a matter of preference. (Not ONE-SIDED ranting)

yung psp ko eh ginagawa ko minsang portable playstation na pangdagdag sa library of classics

but yeah its a matter of preference, kung san ka masaya suportahan taka, lol

idol ko yan si pafs kryst! utilized nya PSP nya (hands down). nilalaro ko rin naman PSP dahil magaganda rin yung mga RPG at yung mga classic games sa PSX/PS1, nothing can do it in portable way but PSP.

both consoles are superb.

Lalabas na po ang Nintedo 3DS kaya siguro itong comparison dito ay magiging outdated sooner or later.

@answer, pafs sori if it looks like im starting a debate, im really not.

@all we should really be united cause we have one thing in common, we are all game addicts (aside from we belong in same community- symbianize)

in the long run ang kalalabasan lng nmn pala is wala.. haha

the DS has its own world and PSP has its own too...

to sum it all up it's all about preference... kanya-kanyang trip lng yan...

kung hindi ka mapakali eh di bilhin mo yung dalawa... wala nmn pumipigil sa iyo kung hindi ikaw lng din

and since may plans na for the 3rd gen (or 4th or whatever) handheld consoles of Nintendo and sony eh hindi na tlga pwede icompare ung dalawa...

N3DS is in it's own league and targeting a different market than Sony kaya they are both incomparable... but if you forcefully want to compare...

make a comparison of "fun factor/time" (fun factor over time) and see kung where ka mas nageenjoy...

emulators is there for a reason... some are for programming practices... some are for playing... but their are people who uses emulators to emulate the hardware before they buy the real system... to know where they would enjoy more and be satisfied...

in other words tinetesting nila kung ano mas-patok sa kanila in terms of game library and system controls

naku kung kaya ko lang buy pareho... kaso abuse na yun di na praktikal hindi pang kids lang nds puro nag originate sa classic games mga laro dito kaya nga nilalaro ko kase sinimulan ko na to nuon pa pambata? ipalaro mo nga s bata yung fire emblem, front mission, ace attorney logic, decision making kelangan dyan hindi button mashers, combohan type na game try mo dito valkyrie profile, endless frontier, dun s mga nag sasabe n kaya nang psp mag emulate nang nds cge himasin mo dog ko sa harvest moon sa psp mo... pano mo papahabulin sa frees bee ung nintendo dog ko? dun sa mga d nakakaalam nkakapag net, nakakanuod ng movie at may mp3 player ang nds... may homebrew den... sa ndsi may built in cam na... psp go bumili ka kung me makukuhanan ka nang games bwahahahaha ang gastos... d pa pwede mga games mo s dating psp mo...

pero mukhang di pa ata available yung pandora sa market, yung gp2x wiz pa lang yung bagong alteration ng gp2x line, nakita ko maayos pagkakagawa ng mga emulators dito, karamihan din ng mga emu dun pinoport sa psp, which is same silang nagrurun in linux
