Re: PSP or Nintendo DS?

Re: PSP or Nintendo DS?

kaya ko lang bibilihin ang psp dahil sa pokemon games!!!!! just because of that reason!!!!! everything else, psp... pero bwisit talaga ang pokemon diamond and pearl!!!!! kailangan talaga sa ds!!!!! pokemon lang talaga!!!!!

Re: PSP or Nintendo DS?

i love the ds!!!!!! just because of one title...
one title that rules all titles in the psp...
and thats pokemon!!!!!!!!!!

Re: PSP or Nintendo DS?

:panic: :panic::panic::

*sorry NDS GBA owners... :p*

first off, ang PSP ay 128bit, ang NDS as 64bit. sure kaya ng PSP i-emulate ang gba na 16bit, but asking a 64bit device such as an NDS to emulate a 128bit device is... well, asking for too much. and no, i dont think even the PSP can emulate the NDS. touch screen? meh... and besides, the NDS doesnt need to emulate a GBA, its built-in.

one thing im sure the PSP cant do as of yet is to use voice chat thru wifi. maybe thru accessories and updates or softwares or what-nots, it might, pero ang NDS already uses it on one of its most popular titles (Pokemon Diamond/Pearl) using its built-in mic. because of voice chat, battling becomes so much more enjoyable, because you can actually hear each other scream and shout as you pit your team against your opponent, and the gamers doesnt feel detached. its a whole new experience, believe me. for example, if you've never played online DOTA or online CounterStrike with voice chat, then you don't know what im talking about. you dont know what you're missing until you experience it. *wink*

the NDS can also emulate a PDA (using several software, such as Moonshell as its main OS and homebrews that take advantage of the touchscreen, the mic, and wifi), kaya ba ng PSP un? ehehe...

despite not having as much power as a PSP, the NDS' user base is much, much wider and diverse than the PSP's. NDS users can range from teens to more matured people, teachers (lots of educational softs already available, especially language materials that take advantage of the touchscreen and the mic), businessmen (as a business tool and as a PDA/Organizer), and so much more. Moms love it (Cooking Mama, anyone? :D), Pops love it (playing cards or racing karts on wifi), kids love it (Nintendogs? or Pokemon? how bout both?), and i could go on...

PSP users, however, are mostly just gamers. just that. why else would you own a PSP except to play games on it? lol... you say listen to mp3s and movies, well, the NDS can do that too using moonshell. and besides, if you really wanna listen to music or watch movies, why didnt you just buy something cheaper that does those better?

lol. i rest my case. but in my opinion, popularity-wise, sa userbase palang ng NDS, olats na PSP. sure, dami merong PSP, pero karamihan ng PSP owners eh gamers, and most of those gamers are probably NDS owners as well. idagdag mo pa ung mga hindi hardcore gamers na NDS owners din, like your mom (who most probably wouldnt even know what a PSP is, except an expensive toy that took a chunk out of their budget), iwan na... hindi lahat ng tao gamer, and Nintendo knows that.

May psp radio, GPS, Skype. Maraming pwedeng mangyari.

ako psp ... yung lang, ganda ng graphics, sound quality, screen quality aside from that may movie player at music player pa

Naruto? Patapon? Dragonball Z? ehehe.

"usually" just dont cut it. just because ang mga alam nyo lang na games sa NDS eh Pokemon at Mario, eh pambata na ung mga un. baka magulat ka kung gano ka-seryoso ang gameplay ng Pokemon, hehe. people hold tournaments for it... can you say the same about ANY popular PSP title? kahit ung Mario Kart, magugulat ka rin sa online player base nun... i've seen office "bossings" that prefers playing Mario Kart DS online rather than play with their employees na naka PSP.

underdog lang ang NDS sa pinas, because people here really dont know much about the NDS. i suppose its a matter of preference. madali nga naman sa PSP, download ka lang ng games, you're good to go. sa NDS, mag-iinvest ka pa sa flashcarts para magawa un.

That is why I said IT DEPENDS ON THE AGE BRACKET…Usually mas prepared ng mga gaya nyong age ang psp at sa ds naman mas enjoy ang mga kids…
One thing more, ofcourse ung mga mentioned mo na games ay available din sa DS… alangan naman puro kiddy games lang gagawin ng DS and vise versa (PSP)…

And about what you’ve said “so, by that argument”… is there any? We are just here to discuss our own perception regarding the said topic… depende naman yan sa tao kung san sya enjoy diba…

This is just base on my observation sa mga makikita kong nagloloro ng DS at PSP…

@jeng: ahaha, my bad. i suppose i could've rephrased that into something less "argumentative"... its just that, people who usually make offhanded remarks about the DS tend to not know much about it. let's just say i see much more promise for the NDS over the PSP (ung DS Linux pa lang eh, andami nang pedeng dumugtong dun. plus ung Moonshell is sort of an Operating System na rin for the NDS, because depende sa plugins na naka-install, you can add a slew of features. i even heard Word Processing softwares are in the works, so its already starting down the path of MiniPC/Handheld). although i dont own a PSP, there are 2 PSP's dito sa bahay, so i can say im not entirely biased sa NDS, but preferences do kick in, so i'm sticking with mine. :)

@wesley: dude, depende sa budget range mo eh. brandnew DSlites na package deal na would cost you about 8k to 9k or more, depende kung san ka bibili. some are selling packages online, and i've seen some as cheap as 5k. depende sa deal kung merong included na flashcart o wala, pero kapag sa mga mall ka bumili, usually kasama na flashcart (depende sa availability kung anong brand makukuha mo) plus games. pag 2nd hand naman (if you dont mind used units), you can get one fairly cheaper - around 4k ang excellent working condition, some are packaged with goodies, some are units only. if it's priced a bit higher than that, its either its fairly new, it has goodies (ie carts), or its a rip-off. try googling online, and use the keywords "tipid" and "DS". it will most probably take you to a locally hosted buy&sell site (for pinoys). flash carts would be priced at least 1.5k (2nd hand), and the cheapest brand new model you can buy for about 1.8k. there are flashcarts priced 2.5k+, but i don't think you'll need to spend that much. you'll have better chances getting one online.

not a probs... a respect your own opinion regarding this matter :D base lang yan kasi sa observation ko sa mga nakikita ko dito :D like my son he owns a psp pero mas gusto nya laruin ung DS ng pinsan ko kaya naisip ko na buti pang DS na lang binili ko sa kanya mas mura pa :giggle:

ah, hehe. i know a lot like that too. may PSP, with all the games they like, but even then the buttoon-mashing gets old, and then makikita nila mga games like Nintendogs, nakakaintriga pag nakikita mo kinakausap nila ung DS nila, tapos touchscreen pa.
