Thanks,

Maraming Indian and Pinoys na nagaaral don at nakaka survive naman from what I heard. One Youtube video of an Indian guy said he earns about $1,000 Canadian dollars a month working part-time in a fastfood restaurant. Average rent is about $1,000 - 1,200 Canadian but if you rent in a shared apartment like the ones you can find on Toronto Roommates, Craigslist or Kijiji you could probably find a place to stay for $600-800. Meron din na deport na Indian student kasi nag fulltime work sya during school season. Pwede lang mag fulltime work kung school vacation. From what I gathered mas mahirap maka survive as a student sa Vancouver dahil sa taas ng cost of living especially rent. Toronto has more jobs and public transit is also more extensive meaning if you live in the suburbs or areas outside of the metro area you can still get to the city due to availability of buses, LRT etc. which is not the case in other provinces.Though travel times can be as long as 4 hours one way.

It's not impossible to achieve PR status from Student permit but it would really test your character and ability as an individual not to mention your survival instinct to achieve your goals. In India it is quite common for families to sell their farms and other properties just to finance their children's international education in highly developed countries since they know it's one of the best ways to break the poverty cycle for the benefit of future generations.

A less riskier pathway to PR is to work and gain experience in countries with lower standards of hiring like in the Middle East. Truck Drivers for example are one of the most In-Demand jobs in Canada and do not need an LMIA since it has already been pre-determined that Canada has an acute shortage. Depending on your job and spending habits this would allow you to save and finance your plans of migrating to Canada via Express Entry which is processed within 6 months of filing from what I gathered.

You can ask for tips on how they did it.

Tama, Canada is now at the same stage as the US was back in the early 70's when they opened their immigration system to skilled workers. Back then my relatives said it only took them 6 months to get processed after filing the application. Eventualy, maghihigpit din sila gaya ng US pag sobrang dami na ng immigrants kaya dapat you have to take advantage while they still have a more welcoming environment. There are also POEA accredited agencies na nagrerecruit ng workers puntang Canada. That is also a safer option kasi darating ka don may job ka na.
