in my personal opinion
i prefer windows 7 over windows 8.
why?
windows 7 is far more stable and reliable compared to windows 8.
[ one major loss of windows 8 is its lack of lan connection, although it can be configured manually - it is not a task for someone not familiar with that kind of environment ]
windows 7 is stable in terms of compatibility - most games are already built compliant on the specification present in windows 7.
depending on your system you may run a 64bit windows 7 for a better experience.
