eto na solution para fully ma enjoy ganitong klasing spec ng netbook.

I have the same specs (eMachines em350) upgraded nga lang RAM to 2g kasi WIN 7 Ultimate gamit ko hahaha

My Specs:

Intel N450 dual core Atom CPU 2x1.66 Ghz
2gb Ram
160GB HDD
6 Li-on Battery
Intel 3150 GPU

Steps that can help optimize your slow netbook

1st Upgrade RAM, kung windows 7 ka which is starter edition na built in sa netbook nowadays magupgrade ka to 2gb of RAM kailangan talaga para makagamit ka ng netbook na matino like playing youtube videos while editing MS documents. pero kung WIN XP lang and Linux sapat na 1gb ram.

2nd Use Virtual RAM or Page File, search nyo thread dito sa SB napulot ko lang po ee haha

3rd And The Newest Discovered ko na tweak.. (actually eto lang tweak para bumilis netbook natin kasi di pwede setFSB, gma Booster and other overclocking/tweak tool as of now)

UPDATE DRIVER! haha not the stock intel gma graphics driver for 3150 na nakukuha sa site ng machines pero punta kayo dito and download and install SHERRY 1.3.3150 driver(100% tested di na kailangan iunstall yung lumang driver at di sya overclock). I was sceptical na working sya pero naging 2.0 yung rating ko sa WINDOWS EXPERIENCE ng Gaming Performance which is 3.0 dati before ko iinstall yung driver. Magiging 2.0 overall performance which is sufficient to open 2 browsers with vid stream playing on it without lags.

Para sa mga ibang GPU ng netbook machines nyo, pwede din magupdate to sherry's kasi driver sya na nagooptimize ng process not an overclock but will significantly speed up the process.

*note kung ang graphic card mo is intel GMA 950 search nyo sa google GMA booster, the best tweak for this setup.


Currently I'm waiting for an update sa mga contributor ng setFSB, nagsend na ako ng mga very technical details regarding sa em350 and hp netbooks ko para masama tayo sa list. Na optimize kasi nila mga n450 atom processor from 1.6ghz up to 2.2ghz kaya hintay hintay lang sa update.

Tips ko naman para sa simpleng tweak sa WIN7 most user kasi dito laging naka windows pero mas trip ko kasi Linux distributions and developer nadin ako sa Open Source Technology like OpenSuse, JoliCloud and Fedora:

1: Always prefer High Performance sa battery setup.
2: Disable Aero and minimize the effects of windows
3: Turn Windows Feature Off (Control Panel/Programs/Turn off Feeatures)
4: Prefer lightweight Apps
5: Run and Edit msconfig.exe then disable unwanted startups
6: Don't use Hibernate
7: Always clean the machine
8. Defrag at least once a month
9. Scan for Virus
10: Disable Firewall, sa mga nkaVPN
Self Explanatory na tong mga tips na to but as I have said try and venture out Linux, meron tayong sariling Linux Distro haha di ko lang ginagamit kasi Arch Technology gamit nila and ayoko ng Tarsier hahahah! kahelOS.org and now pfft! AMA Linux

Laslty share ko lang mga apps/software na gamit ko to improve your netbook experience:

1: 360Desktop, maliit desktop natin ee pero this can run multiple desktop para magkasya mga open application. Dexpot nadin pangdagdag kung gusto nyo maiba.

2: Stardock Fences, to organize desktop. Kasi gumagamit ng 100-300kb sa RAM kada icon sa desktop ee. pwede din gamit kayo ng Rocket Launcher para walang icons.

3: TuneUP Utilities 2012, laking tulong to maintain and optimize system.

4: Microsoft Security Essentials and Panda Cloud Antivirus lang gamitin nyo kasi 5-8mb lang gamit nitong RAM lightweight and effective.

5: Daemon Tools, walang CD/DVD Drive netbooks so a virtual tool to emulate this function is a must.

6: CleanMem, nadedefrag nya memory and monitor that uses 1mb only lang sa background.

7: Opera and Chrome lang gamitin nyo na browser, fully featured and di nag crash compare to QTWeb and other lightweight browser.

8: VLC/Umplayer para sa pagplay ng Video kasi di na kailangan maginstall ng codec pack na nakakabagal pa lalo ng netbook.

Parehas lang na lightweight Anti-Virus mga yan, depende sa connection mo, if lagi kang may Internet Conncetion then go to Panda kpag hindi naman edi MSE nalang
