the last thing i'd want is for the UN to be not neutral but taking sides.

Those Islands has been a chinese Teritory since 1873 when they were a part of the Then French indo China .

They also Defended it as a teritory twice.
1st against the french in first indo war
and
second against Japan where it was used as a submarine base in 1939 wherein the Japanese Admiral Surrendered to china and was held for war crimes in 1945.

It has never been historically a part of the philippines.

tama di ko naman gusto ginagawa ng tsina pero maari nagkamali
ang madame G kung bakit naglagda siya sa kasunduan ng vietnam at tsina "exploration of ng yaman sa ilalim ng lupa" na ayun daw share agreement(agreement within an agreement) na ngayon iba na ang salita-akinin na nila na kahit pinoy pumunta doon barilin na.unfair din naman sa bansa ang agreement na yun di pa dumaan sa senado at sana nabatikos dahil nasa teritoryo naman natin ang spratly. thats a big regretable circumstance and for me it connotes something fishy(youtube).namomobrlema na ngayon si pnoy sa epekto nito.at natural lang na dapat magcounter defend tayo sa harrasment nila like upgrading our forces keysa magsipol nalang tayo sa hangin.kung gegyera we are to defend sa isinangla na para lamang sa iilan pero ang karamihan ang magbabayad.
