1. an OS any OS ok na siguro ang WinXP SP2
2. a nice antivirus. use the ESET NOD32 v3.0 (latest as of now)
3. antispyware software. i'm using SpyBot Search and Destroy
4. firewall the one included with windows just s*cks for me try Comodo Firewall
5. a nice browser. get rid of IE ASAP and use either Firefox or Opera
6. microsoft's powertoys. believe me, even if it's from MS, they work.
7. the .NET framework. most new softwares require this anyway.
8. DirectX9. since using XP you should just opt for DX9. opt for DX10 when more cards support it (and if you're in vista.)
9. maintenance software, like CCleaner.
10. MS Office 2007/Adobe CS3/any software you might need for your duties.
