thanks jetjet........yes i read the first page and you are absolutely right. I just bought this used e1552 to experiment on two things:
1) after i unlock it, will it stay open after i upgrade the firmware to have the call feature.
2) test the call feature.......if it really will work.

sometimes.......it is hard to believe all u read here in the forum. some of them are not true. some of them would deliberately post false info.

I can't upgrade it because the firmware update I downloaded from globe always returns an error, so I went to the nearest Globe Service Center and the technician gave me a copy of the latest software from the new usb stick with globe features. He saved it in mu flash drive then I installed it in my pc when I returned home. It works now and I can now call from my pc. There is no need to upgrade the firmware. The new dashboard with call feature works without the new firmware. You can download the installer from here: http://www.4shared.com/file/213387516/dad1c5dc/TATTOO.html

You better believe because it's true. The reason why the technician at Globe Service Center gave me a copy of the new software which he took from the latest usb stick is because he could not upgrade my firmware and dashboard using the firmware update provided by globe at globe.com.ph/tattoo-upgrade. This firmware upgrade never worked for my globe tattoo. It only returns an error "update failed". There is no need to upgrade to the latest firmware. Sorry but this works well for me. And I'm happy that I am now able to call from my pc.

My globe tattoo is the newer version but does not include the call feature. It came in a red box.

Hehehe, globe thinks you need to upgrade the firmware for the call feature to work. No need to upgrade. Just copy the installer from the new tattoo with call feature and install it in your pc instead of installing the software that came with your tattoo (with no call features). http://www.4shared.com/file/21338751...dc/TATTOO.html
