B315s-936 as File / Media Server

Hi symbianizers... (Sensya na sa English Karabao ko...)

May modem ka na B315s-936 LTE maganda diba?
May mga na download ka na mga files, movies at music kaso masCOOL kapag accessible mga yan diba?
Hustle kapag lagi naka bukas PC or Laptop habang nanonood o nakikinig ng paboritong movies or music.
Naisip mo kung pwede lang sana nakalagay sa isang lugar ang lahat ng Files, Movies, Music at iba pa documents mo.


Share ko lang po kung paano gamitin o paganahin ang File / Media server gamit ang B315s-936 LTE modem.
- Samba file share
- DLNA / UPnP (Universal Plug and Play)

Requirements:
1. B315s-936 LTE modem (with POLKO FW) eto po kasi gamit ko now di ko sure baka pwede sa iba FW. Kung tatanungin mo ako paano openline at debrand ibang thread po iyon.
2. External HDD or HDD with enclosure (Gamit ko po ay 2.5 HDD for laptop with enclosure from cdrking may kasama na USB adaptor)
- Pwede din nga pala USB Flash Drive paki format nalang din as FAT32 (Dyan ko nga pala muna test bago sa HDD)
3. Smart TV or Android TV Box or any Cellphones/Tablets capable of streaming or sharing your files. Gamit ko po KODI. Try nyo...


STEPS:
Prepare your HDD and Modem
1. Format your External HDD in FAT32 (Prepare your HDD readable by your modem.) I recommend using EaseUS Partition Master.
2. After formatting your HDD you can now put your files and media onto your Drive.
2. Plug External HDD USB adaptor at the back of your modem USB port.
3. Power On your modem wait for it to recognize the HDD
4. Login to GUI and go to SHARING tab CHECK or Enable Sambe Sharing
5. Go to USER SETTINGS. Add your desired Username, Password, Rights and Directory. PRESS OK then APPLY to save changes.
6. Go to DLNA tab and click Enabled to Enable DLNA/UPnP feature of your modem. (Optional)

We are now ready to stream...
Via Android TV Box
- Download and Install KODI(optional) Madaming Apps na compatible kayo na bahala.
- Select source and select samba then enter Host/IP ng modem, Username and Password
- Then select your movie, music or file to view. Enjoy!

Via iPhone or Android Phone
- I personaly use PlayerXtreme and File Explorer Madami kasi apps na pwede. Kayo na bahala.
- Select source and select samba then enter Host/IP ng modem, Username and Password
- Then select your movie, music or file to view. Enjoy!

DLNA/UPnP? May mga apps/gadgets na no need na enter host/ip at username/password madetect na agad ang shared content once connected sa WIFI.
Kaso I do not recommend this feature may mga relatives, friends and neighbors ako na pinapagamit ko sa net kapag dumadalaw.
Ayoko naman na mapapasok nila HDD ko hehehe... for security lang.
Pero kung ikaw lang naman connected sa network mo ayos na ayos gamitin DLNA/UPnP



PS:
- Nag try din ako sa B593s-22 (aka S22) kaso parang nag low power need ng additional supply kasi 2 USB ang generic enclosure.
- Kapag 936 no need kaya nya i power yung generic enclosure.

ilan naman ang transfer rate boss? i mean pag streaming ng hd (720p or 1080p videos) wala bang buffering? or pag nagsabay ang 3 or more na client na nag stream, wala buffering?
im not expecting kasi na kaya ng 936 since di ko din alam kong shared bus ba ang ethernet/wan at usb port

No problem sir. Natry ko sir sabay sabay 3 device/gadget wala din buffer except kung 1080p medyo nahihirapan pero tolerable naman pause muna ng ilang minutes bago play.

Yung kodi na gamit ko nasa Android TV Box at sa Laptop ko.

Medyo komplikado kasi setup ng kodi kung di ka familiar medyo mahihirapan ka dating XBMC yan. Anyway eto sir yung Step by step ng pag add source sa kodi at pag add sa library... Ingat lang po sa copyright. Hehehe...


NOTE: for KODI only... a.k.a xbmc

Part 1 = Adding Source
1. Go to Settings, Then File Manager
2. Click or Tap Add Source, Browse, Add Network Location
3. Follow the setup below
Protocol = SMB
Server Name = IP ng Modem mo (192.168.254.1 - sample lang ito)
Share Folder = Leave Blank
Port = Leave Blank
Username = Enter Username created in 1st tut
Password = Enter Password created in 1st tut

4. Now you will see something like this.

5. Click your Desired folder to add as Source mine was selected to the root so I have access all the folders.

Part 2= Adding the Movies in Database
1. Go to Videos/Movies Menu, Add Videos, Browse
2. Select SMB server and locate folder or sub folder
3. Enter the Name of your Media Source then Hit OK
4. Once ma save lalabas ng yung Source Name
5. Right Click then " Scan for new content " wait mo lang scan nya buong folder kung madami laman medyo antay mo lang.

6. ENJOY!!!

Tol actually pwede din itong mga sana QUOTE. Enter username/password nalang after.

Sir salamay dito napagana ko young sa player kaya lang po paanu po ung sa explorer walang samba.
