Under the agreement, Facebook will put up a submarine cable system landing in the east at Poro Point in La Union and in the west at Baler, Aurora.

The BCDA Group, a government-owned and -controlled corporation, will build landing points and a 250-km cable corridor for P 975 million, in exchange for 2 million mbps (2 terabits per second) of bandwidth, roughly equivalent to the combined bandwidth of Smart and Globe.

Part of the bandwidth will be used for powering government IT infrastructure while the rest will be retailed to private internet users to help make internet services cheaper and faster for all.

Inaasahang makumpleto at magiging online ang proyektong ito sa katapusan ng 2019.
