There are several things you can do to ease your dogs itch while you try to figure out, with the help of your vet, what is causing the irritating itch.
1. Bathe the dog regularly in cool water. Warm or hot water will only make the itch worse. Soak for 5 to 10 minutes. Adding some Epsom salts, baking soda, or colloidal oatmeal (like Aveeno) to the water will increase the soothing effects. This will provide only a temporary relief lasting from a few hours to a few days. After the bath, pat the dog with a towel. Do not rub the skin, this will only increase the dogs itch. Do not use a hair dryer on a heat setting. A cool (no heat) setting would be okay. Heat and rubbing the dogs skin will increase your dogs itch, making the bath ineffective.
2.Fatty Acids, found in either marine oils or evening primrose oil, can be very effective in easing an itch. You can try giving one of these fatty acid supplements. It will take several weeks before the benefit will take effect, so they are for treating long term problems rather than an on-off irritation. You can find these at your local health food store.
3.Antihistamines can sometimes be effective with short term itches. For example; insect bites or a flare-up of hay fever. You can use an over the counter antihistamine such as clemastine (Tavist), chlorpheniramine (Chlor-Trimeton) or diphenhydramine (Benadryl). Be sure to consult your veterinarian first. Your vet will give you the proper dosage and tell you if this will be a good thing to try for your dogs problem.

May procedures po naginagawa sa mga veterinary clinics para malaman yung root cause ng pangangati ng aso. One is skin scraping..kukuha lng po yung vet ng skin sample then under the microscope they may find out...pwere rin po woods lamp for fungal infection..
yung symptoms na itch and hairloss pwedeng caused by fungi, mange mites also food allergies and magkaiba po treatments in each case...
Animals are like humans too..tao nga ilang araw di maligo nangangati..sila rin po..bathe them once or twice a week..depende po sa environmental conditions to prevent stress..dito sa baguio once a week lng ang recommended kasi malamig dito..and maganda po sana kung may moisturizer yung shampoo or soap na gagamitin nyo

Mange and fungal infections usually manifest if your pet's immunity is low...kaya dapat palakasin ang resistensya..iwas stress and itching is a form of stress....
Anti-histamins could address the reaction but not in the long run so kailangan natin malaman yung dahilan kung bakit ba sila nangangati..para yung dahilan ang titirahin natin...
Mga gamot na makikita nyo sa vet clinic, petshop, or vet pharmacy:
Bka naman pulgas yan? meron po tayong spot on treatments like frontline (fipronyl) or revolution..these would keep them flea-free for about 3months.
Meron din po tayong mga medicated soaps or shampoo..some of which could address bacterial, fungal and mange infections or other external parasite infestations..some naman have specified purpose..ask nyo yung vet nyo kung alin ang tama para sa pet nyo..Meron din pong sprays or bathe solutions
usually po may content to na amitraz, ketoconazole, dexamethasone etc etc...
Meron din pong mga injectables and oral preparations for the specific causative agent....
Sometimes po yung mga home remedies sumasapat na..lalo na kung malakas at matibay ang mga alaga nyo...some dogs gets worst nman kahit ano pang subukan nyo..so it's best to seek recommendations from veterinarians...just like seeking help from your md pag kayo naman ang may sakit....

Wag po kuya naku...kung everyday you'll just be inducing more stress and baba pa po lalo resistance ng aso nyo...once or twice a week is ok na...paligo nyo lng po yung soap..pwedeng wag nyo nang banlawan then repeat mo after 3 days...keep your dog dry...
linisin mo na rin po resting quarters nya..use disinfectants..di mo po makikita yung mites..pero nandun lng sila sa tabi-tabi...
Give your dog vit E and C maganda po yan to boost your dogs immunity and anti oxidants din po yan na maganda sa skin and hair...

mange din ang case ng dog namin. continuous shots, medicated bath, anti-itch, antibiotics, supplement for hair growth. may soap din na pampaligo, also anti-galis. bumabalik yan kaya dapat continuous ang treatment at magastos. sana nga gumaling na ang aso ko

MANGE yan ts... ganyan din nangyari sa mga aso ko.. "pitbull"
2 options.. pwede gamitin mo yung Dr. Wong Sulfur Soap paliguan mo yung dog using the soap tapos patuyuin mo yun para maabsorb sa balat yung gamot.. then kinabukasan banlawan mo na... the most effective but dont over use this medication is the injectable na "IVOMEC"and licensed VETERINARIAN do the injection to the dog... ...hope nakatulong to.. sana ok na yung dog mo,... tc...
