So heres the case: meron akong (2)dalawang hard disk which is 160gb and 1tb. As of now yung 1tb lang ang gamit ko ngayon with 2 partition C:/300gb D:/600gb running windows 8. Question: if nakapag install na ako ng new OS sa 160gb edi magiging dual OS na ako (tama po ba?). At Pwede ko bang i delete yung OS ng 1tb ko para stick to one nalang?

Take note: di ko po pala pwede pagsabayin isalpak yung XP and win8 dahil sa SATA configuration meaning kailangan kong i-set sa IDE mode kung gagamitin ko yung XP tapos AHCI naman pag win8. Salamat sa mga makakasagot.

bali ung 160gb na system mo sir, then yung 1tb mo ung gagamitin mo as storage? o sabay mo pong gagamitin ung dalawang hard disk and then choose which one to boot ? tama ba pagkaintindi ko?

doing a partition and using 2 different hdd is not the same. [ i personally prefer doing a partition na lang to one drive and use the other hdd for storage ]

if by using the term "dual OS" you also meant "dual boot" may set-up pa po un sir. kasi normally ino-over write po ang old system file tuwing nagfoformat po tayo, tama po ba ? kung gusto mo po ng ganyang set up visit this thread for reference, pero why not give up ung windows xp? di na kasi sya supported at di narin updated ..mas ok pa po kung pili ka na lang sa open source OS like linux.

credits to sir DarkEyes15 for the thread because i don't own it.

P.S. system mo po ung nasa signature mo diba ? ..you can maximize everything na pala for an all-purpose system lakas sir! :salute:

P.S. setting up a good performing PC takes time sir. extend lang po tayo ng patience and try to understand things para po mas mag-benefit tayo.

Question: if nakapag install na ako ng new OS sa 160gb edi magiging dual OS na ako (tama po ba?). At Pwede ko bang i delete yung OS ng 1tb ko para stick to one nalang?

D:/600gb --- May Windows 8 ka na
sa C:/300gb --- ano yan storage o may OS din...?
160gb -- balak mo magXP.

If you want to boot to D:/600gb na may Windows 8 then select mo yung HDD na yun as second bootingg drive. Yung 160 HDD mo as first booting drive (may XP kamo). Everytime na gusto mo magpalit ng booting drive or that case OS (either Win8 or XP) punta ka sa BIOS set mo dun.

Or better yet use EasyBCD so you can set where you want to boot sa tray area. Select mo dun by checking what drive you wanna boot and then restart na. Magboot yun sa selected drive mo at hindi ka na pupunta sa BIOS to set it there.

Nagdual-boot ako nun before my transition to Win 7 from XP (then Win 7 to Win8) D: drive Win 7 at C: drive XP drive. Both seperate hard disks para walang issue. Nangyayari yun pagnakakabit pareho at live yung 2 hard disk. So inulit ko yun at inalis ko sa SATA yung XP drive then nagformat ako sa singular live HDD ng Windows 8.

In your case meron ng Windows 8 so Iam assuming na yung system reserve mo nasa singular live HDD mo..tama?

Try mo check yung mga links below so madami kang tips na makuha pa. Win 7 + XP dual boot yan pero same lang yan. Mas maganda if you will use EasyBCD (freeware).

-- Sana nga ganito gaya ng advise ni slayingmoon para simple lang but if you need to use both HDD madali rin yun. Dalawa boot options mo (1) from the BIOS and, (2) on the booted partition via EasyBCD.

Salamat sa info sir OmenThorn66, balak ko talaga eh i format yung 160g hdd from windows XP to 8.1 pro kaya lang yung nasa 1tb ko naman eh naka windows8. pwede ba iformat ko nalang yung partition ng windows 8 tapos i-merge ko sa drive D: kung baga isang OS lang gagamitin ko tapos yung 1 tb puro storage nalang? Pwede ba yun. Salamat ulet.

parang madali na mahirap tanong ni sir TS .. for my understanding yung Win8 is nasa 1TB na HDD and yung XP is nasa 160GB ... pwede naman na gawin mong ang OS is set sa 160GB gawin mong win8 at file storage nalang yung 1TB .. kung ito ang gagawin mo, i would strongly recommend na format mo nalang yung C: drive ng 1TB mo. for me kasi parang mas organize kung naka partition yung 1TB mo since malaki naman ang capacity nito. pero kung gusto mo i merge pwede naman . u can use 3rd party application para ma merge or the usual thing remove the 2partitions on ur 1TB and create just 1 logical drive only

Bale:

Format 160gb with Win 8
-- unplug mo yung 1tb mo. Delete mo yung partition ng XP. Format mo siya sa Win8.
-- plu mo yung 1tb mo. Delete mo yung 2 partition ng 1tb mo. Create a new partition sa 1tb mo then use it as storage as you intend to.

No ba ginagamit mo na pang-partition? Built-in windows o 3rd party? EASEUS Partition Wizard with linux boot cd download mo siya dito http://www.winxdvd.com/download/devcom/epmpro_linux.exe then create your linux boot cd. Built-in serial na yan guaranteed clean. Still working promo yan ng Digiarty makers of WinX DVD.

Some notes on boot cd:

Bootable CD/DVD enable you to manage hard disk partitions when your Operating System fails to boot or resize the primary drive to reinstall other Operating Systems or even manage partitions on a computer which has no Operating System. There are two kinds of bootable disk: WinPE bootable disk and Linux bootable disk.

WinPE bootable disk has better hardware compatibility and better software stability than Linux bootable disk. WinPE bootable disk also allow you to use most of all EASEUS Partition Master Professional features. But you have to have WAIK AIK to make the WinPE disk. However, a lot of functions are not available in Linux bootable disk, such as copy dynamic volume, convert dynamic disk to basic, display drive letter and etc.
