A speech translation system would typically integrate the following three software technologies: automatic speech recognition (ASR), machine translation (MT) and voice synthesis (TTS).

The speaker of language A speaks into a microphone and the speech recognition module recognizes the utterance. It compares the input with a phonological model, consisting of a large corpus of speech data from multiple speakers. The input is then converted into a string of words, using dictionary and grammar of language A, based on a massive corpus of text in language A.

simply put, kelangan magawa mong madetect yung words na sasabihin. tapos i COCOMPARE NYA sa LIBRARY NG MGA BOSES (LARGE CORPUS OF SPEECH DATA) then kapag nahanap nya yung word na iyon result is Visaya...

Di pa considered ang grammar correctness, isa pang bagay iyon. pero kung thesis yan pede nio nang ilagay yun sa limitations.. :) :) :)

TIP:
Una gumawa ka muna ng logic kapag itong tagalog word na ito ang input ang lalabas is itong visayang word.
Next mag record ka ng visaya and tagalog words( siempre dapat hiwahiwalay na file or kung paano man dapat ang design nya. @_@)
Tapos pagaralan mo pano madetect yung voice. then hahanapin nya yung tagalog word na nadetect sa database mo afterwards kapag nahanap na nya irereturn na nya yung visaya..

Ahahaha mukhang madaling sabihin kung ano dapat gagwin mo pero mejo mahirap yan bro.. Knowing na until NOW may PROBLEM parin si SIRI at voice search ng GOOGLE! Maganda ito, share ka ng naresearch mo na dito ha! :D

if need mo ng guide let me know kung nasan ka na, I can be most helpful kung JAVA ang gagamitin mong language... Kung mobile yan at android mejo hindi ko pa gamay yan... :) :)

mukang mahirap to.
english nga lang hirap ng mangolekta ng list of grammar. at hirap din sa diction mas lalo na sa mother tongue natin to tagalog

napakasimple lang po ng solution na to. kung iisipin po natin maigi, kung simpleng sinisearch nya lang ang word sa database nya tapos kukunin yung equivalent na visaya word ay mgkakaproblema to sa grammar.

Did you know that there is over five master courses for SOUNDS (speech, acoustics etc.)? yung TERM na " simpleng sinisearch nya lang ang word sa database" is true kung WRITTEN WORDS but for this task you are comparing SPOKEN WORDS, kailangan nyang magrecord ng specimens (girl, boy's voice, low pitch, high pitch etc.) kada ISANG WORD!!! Then you will have to look for a good algorithm to compare the SPOKEN WORD dun sa specimen. Kapag resolute na sa SPOKEN WORD comparison, saka ka palang magsesearch ng VISAYA equivalent!

Sir pwede ba sa string na lng namin ilagay ung data nya

Sir pwede ba sa string na lng namin ilagay ung data nya

This is how your design may look like:

Save the recorded words in a folder named SPECIMEN meaning it would look like this
"/SPECIMEN/SAYA/saya_male.wav"
"/SPECIMEN/SAYA/saya_woman.wav"
"/SPECIMEN/LUNGKOT/lungkot_male.wav"

tapos may folder kadin for bisaya like
"/BISAYA/nalipay.wav" etc...

Save mo yung file name as String column sa database or if you prefer yung buong path

Then sa program mo iaccess mo sya like the ff in simple pseudo code:

Code:
public String compare(Voice voiceTagalog) { //Voice is the input

      String word = "";
      word = getTheWord(voiceTagalog); // dito ka iiyak! hehehe... you have to create some weird algo how can you compare the voice(SPOKEN WORD) input to your specimens
                                                    // then my return string sya na yun yung word in WRITTEN!

      if (!word.equals("")) { //not null or empty, meaning nasa database
         String bisaya = getTheBisaya(word) // eto na sir yung sinasabi nilang madaling part. hahahaha... syempre kasi WRITTEN WORD na. lookup sa database tapos irereturn nya yung bisaya term. ex nalipay.

      //then using your programming language choice api, access the file system
      Voice voiceBisaya = getWavFile("/BISAYA/" + word + ".wav");

      // tapos i play mo na
     playTheBisayaWord(voiceBisaya);

      }
}
