How to make an Old Mac OSx usable?

So we have this mac os x na nkatambay lng po sa sulok . Sayang lng kasi d na gingamit.
I think we had it since 2009-10.

ISSUES:
Deleted System Preferences
Nagscscroll lng sya bigla sa right (parang may pumipindot sa keyboard, left arrow)

Meron po bang chance if ever pra maging usable sya? Ang naiisip kong solution is change os, which is linux para lightweight .
Gsto ko sna reinstall lng kaso nawala na yung CD sa sobrang tagal .
I'm just open for suggestions . Please share your own opinions and thoughts.

try m baklasin yung keyboard tas linisan m,,,to restore the original installed operating system nian,turn on m tas press m c option+r kylangan nkaconnect sa net pra mdlod nian orig installed os

isa po dn pla sa problems is d sya connected sa net . i think na infect yung settings sa net nya, at isa sa mga problems ko dn po is d ko makita ung settings kasi mismo ung system preference na gui ay wala na . even i-connect ko sya sa ethernet walang net , nkkaconnect dn ako sa wifi pero pag magbbrowse na eh not connected ung nakalagay .

Tama, linisin mo ang keyboard. Palitan mo ng SSD ang hard disk mo. Tanggalin yung cd rom at lagyan din ng isa pang ssd, boost mo ram kahit 8 gig. Press on, then hold command+option+r. Follow the instructions to reinstall and update Osx. Di ganun ka dali ma exploit ang Mac, madali syang gamitin, less vulnerable sa mga exploits at maganda gamitin for creativity purposes.

It depends, pede ma change ang OS nyan if ang processor ng mac ay intel or AMD, pag power PC ang processor, malabong magyari na mag change ang OS kasi hindi compatible ang windows OS sa power PC processor.

About keboard malfunctioning: If marunong ka magbaklas nyan, kunin mo ang keyboard at ibilad sa init ng 8 hours or more, bagtarin mo after 4 hours
About mouse pad: Ganun din gagawin but if ever sa dalawang controllers ang ayaw pa rin mag ok, then it is time to have a replacement for it.
