Re: [OFFICIAL THREAD] Samsung GALAXY S II I9100 | Please Read FAQ!!!!! [Updated 12/29

Re: [OFFICIAL THREAD] Samsung GALAXY S II I9100 | Please Read FAQ!!!!! [Updated 12/29

hi guys..

ive been reading the posts and threads ( not all but some ) here and im planning to change kernels. but heres my dilemma:

1. im coming from stock rom Orange PL BVKJ1 taken from intratech thread
2. Rooted thru zergrush exploit ( obviously i dont have CWM recovery )
3. i cant use ODIN thru this PC because this one is a bit slower, somehow it gets stuck during some processes and it takes long time to flash not even succesful in any flashings ive done here even on symbian phones. ( my main pc is off for repair )

heres my plan:

1.install CWM manager
2. when #1 is succesful i want to flash the latest Siyah Kernel
3.if all goes succesful i will be happy..

another thing...
if it fails using CWM manager for flashing siyah kernel i wont be able to use this PC to flash another kernel using ODIN and i dont have a jig myself atm coz my SGS2 is quite new out of the box

so my questions are:

1. flashing the kernel will give me a +1 to the binary counter that will void my warranty?
2. if i want to go back to old kernel is there any other way aside from using odin in PC?

thanks for to someone who will reply..

---------------------------------------- OK na naka CF ROOT na ako.. thankies --------------------------------------------------

1. flashing CWM will not add to your binary counter, flashing through ODIN will
2. You will use ODIN to flash back to stock from intratech post.

Edit:

You can also use the USB jig to remove the yellow triangle and reset the binary counter

I have removed yellow triangle without using jig and my current kernel is Siyah 2.6.4 with fully working cwm. To check how, click my sig "Stats"

This method will not increase binary count nor have you a yellow triangle. So basically, you won't need jig at all.
1. root your device (you can root without increasing binary count like this one here,p)

2. since ur rooted, install cwm app, extract zimage of ur desired kernel from .tar file like siyah 2.6.5
then save in internal memory, flash zimage customer kernel via cwm app(not recovery).

3. then flash your rom/modem/mods/themes in recovery mode.

Result = No increase in Binary counter.

Paraparaan lang yan sir hehe
Right now, my binary count is 0 (Naki jig lang ako kaya na reset because I increased mine before) I decided to reset binary count when I found a method which will not increase your binary count. hehehehe

Pero don't ever rely on easy root, I mean one click root. Pag natuto ka na talaga. Pwede mo na paikut ikutin yang rooting iwas binary count. ;)

for newbies, i recommend cfroot. pinakauna kong nagamit... ^___^

y recommend cfroot if there is another way to root without increasing binary count. i think its best to post at first page about the method mentioned by dridz. hindi lahat bagohan sa android ay no-how.

bro, thanks sa pagshare sa method. im not concerned about my binary count but more on how to improve the tutorials sa first page for the new comers lalot na sa mga android noobie but have advance tech knowledge. sori guys just want to help this thread.

Re: [OFFICIAL THREAD] Samsung GALAXY S II I9100 | Please Read FAQ!!!!! [Updated 12/29

@Fiber
Did you read the FAQ? Andun na po yung other methods and was posted the very first time i included FAQ. Yung method ni drigz meron na din yan nakagawa dito, just backread lang po, kaya lang with different rooting method. Doomlord's and gingerbreak yung iba. :)
Gamit ko po dati ang superoneclick back in froyo version (in my Ace). Not when gingerbread came. May conflict kasi. But they can choose other methods mentioned in FAQ. Labas na ako dun hehehe.
Thanks po for raising this concern for thread.:D

Speaking of Ace, nowadays ang dali ng mag root. Just flash a root.zip file then ur rooted :)
Speaking of SGS2 - cfroot increase binary count however, ito ang pinaka madaling method :)

Advanced method of rooting will not increase binary count and you will not have yellow triangle as well, but you need to read very carefully and follow instructions carefully. Pag nagkamali ka, you can have you phone soft brick, but can be revived using download mode, flashing stock files. That will not happen if you follow instructions carefully.

Some apps FC with kp8

@sir jaicon, ano na pong gamit niyong rom ngayon?
