Bakit? kasi kung equal sila, equal ang current na dumadaloy sa kanila. Isa yang key info para masolve ang problem ng di gumagamit ng reiteration ng values ng Vr. Using that info, pwede nating maconpute ang dapat na resistance ng Vr.
series resistance: 4 Ohms = R1 = Rtotal (based sa clue sa itaas)
parallel resistance: 20 ll Vr let 20 Ohms = R2
Vr = R2(Rtotal) / (R2 - Rtotal)
Vr = 5 Ohms
Since alam na natin ang Vr, makukuha na natin ang Itotal
from Ohm's Law: V = IR, Itotal = Vtotal / Rtotal
Itotal = 120V / (4 + 4) = 15 A... yung isang 4 ohms, yan yung 20 ll 5 ohms.
Since alam na natin ang Itotal, pwede tayo mag setup ng equation from Kirchoff's Current Law. Itotal = I1 + I2
yung current na dumadaan sa series 4Ohm na resistor ay 15 Amperes pa din di ba? so pwede natin makuha yung voltage drop ng R1. Again, Ohm's Law. V=IR
Voltage drop R1 = Itotal (R1)
Voltage drop R1 = 15(4) = 60V
120V - 60 v = 60 V. <-- eto yung pwede nating isubstitute na Voltage source ng parallel na R2 at Vr. Imagine mo na 60 V ang voltage source tapos wala na yung 4ohm na resistor. direcho na gad dun sa parallel na resistors.
Di ba may rule na kapag parallel ang connections, same lang ang voltages nila? May rule din na kapag series ang resistors, same lang ang current passing sa kanila? pero take note yung unang rule. disregard muna yung pangalawa....
Meron ka na Voltage ng dalawang parallel w/c is 60v each tapos may resistance ka? so ano kulang? e di yung I1 at I2!!!! solve natin...
From Ohms law: V = IxR
I1 = 60V / 20ohms = 3Amperes
I2 = 60V / 5 Ohms = 12Amperes
