Yong bigay kasi ng pldt(Huawei HG8145V) is pwede pa naman pang internet pero may packet loss na siya i'm having lag spikes on any online games I play from 24ms to 200ms real quick tapos balik ulet to 24ms, every 5minutes po siya nag gaganun baka dahil siguro 3x ng nahulog dahil sa pusa :ohno: Also want to change it because the router doesn't have QoS which is a big let down since marami kami dto sa bahay gumagamit at 25mbps plan lng po.
Planning to change it to this:

Anong domain or IP ng game server na pinaglalaruan mo TS?

If you're getting spikes in your ping or nakaka experience ka ng packet loss when pinging it from your router, yes, it could be your router. But, if you're experiencing this from your computer, then it may not actually your router, it could be the nameserver not properly set in your computer or the nameserver in the router.

I'll try pinging it from my router and when you say nameserver you mean DNS? gamit ko pong dns is yong default, I'll try changing it into Google DNS and see if it is better. Thank You!

Uhm, well about nameserver and DNS halos pareho lang sila since their objective is basically the same. For example, kapag tinype mo sa browser mo ang Google.com, it will go to a DNS (Domain Name System) and looks for a corresponding IP address kung saan naka host si Google. Yung Name Server naman is an actual server kung saan nakainstall yung software ng DNS.

So bottomline, it's very important to setup the correct nameserver on your end to get a better faster communication between your computer and the "server" (game server, web server or whatever) you're trying to connect to. If for example, you're streaming online, at yung web server kung saan nanggagaling yung video stream ay located sa Netherland at yung nameserver na nakaset sa computer or router mo is either malayo or hindi marecognize nung server sa Netherland, then you'll either get a low-quality stream or pwedeng paputol-putol yung panunood mo.

To fix that, you would need to find out kung anong DNS server yung mismong ginagamit ng server (or website) kung saan nanggagaling yung streams mo. Once you find out kung aling yung mga DNS servers na yun, to get a much better performance, pipiliin mo naman kung alin yung pinakamalapit sayo, and set this DNS server on your computer's or router's DNS or nameserver. For example, kung nandito ka sa Pinas, at yung DNS server na lumabas sa result is isa sa India at isa sa Malaysia, syempre pipiliin mo yung sa Malaysia since sya yung mas malapit sayo.

Now, for added performance, I normally select and setup the "fastest" DNS server on my router. That's much much faster than Google,s 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. Then sa computer naman, I just have to change the nameserver depending on whether I'm gaming or streaming or just browsing. If you learn how to do this, you will never experience any lag, or downtime or any packet loss. Unless kung yung ISP mo na mismo yung may problema, and there are ways to detect that as well.

To get the list of DNS servers for specific domain or game server, try this online tool: https://www.whatsmydns.net/. Sana this makes sense at sana makatulong.

Thank you sa explanation sir. So I tried pinging the ip address of the online game I'm playing
here's the result:
using the default DNS

using cloudflare's DNS

As of now hindi na siya masyadong nag la-lag spike, for comparison dati every game nagkaka 10x lag spike now, 1x nlng nag lag spike at bumaba narin yong ping spike like dati 24ms - 200ms+ now, 24ms-100ms+ nlng po.
