I think that is a defective unit, even if its firmware is different since our unit (international unit) is 900F, I don't think it will have that problem. Probably it is also carrier-locked, don't have idea about Taiwan phones. You can try to flash a ROM for your phone model and hope for the best.

It will void your warranty for starters. No other consequences beside that if yu choose custom ROM without known bugs.

Hnd mabasa ung sim, as per d 1st owner openline na daw c s5 nagamit pa nya d2 sa pinas ung unit.. den ka2palit cguro ng sim my nasira sa part ng sim tray ng s5.. ngtry aq ipacheck sa mga tech ng SM Cyberzone ang sabi nid daw plitan ung simtray ng s5.. bka my alam kau magaling na tech.. e2 po no. q 09212109484 pkitxt na lng po aq.. den usap na lng tau.. sir hindi po mag upupdate ung phone pag niroot mu... owner aq ng galaxy s5 sm-g900fd 1 week palang xa niroot qkaso nung try q mag update ayaw kaya unroot q agad xa aun gumana kaso wala pang available na updates para sa lollipop...
