No, hindi kailangan i-unlock ang bootloader para i-openline, and Take Note (but not really sure about this), once na naipa-openline mo na, pag inupgrade mo yan sa 4.2(or 4.3), If im not mistaken ay mag si-simlock ulit yan

Naholdap kasi ako last November, natangay yung Xperia V
Kaya xperia ulit binili ko. Parang nakasanayan narin kasi.

Dumating na sa akin ung 4.3 Update through OTA, nung friday night dumating sa phone ko, although hindi ko pa ini-install kasi wala paring pang root eh, hehe

EDIT : Nag upgrade na ako using methods sa XDA, now I'm running 4.3 Rooted

Mga idol baka pede nio akong tulungan di ko kasi masyado gets yung instruction sa xda e,,, bka pede nio akong bigyan ng detailed instruction on how to root 4.3, newbie plang po kasi ako sa rooting process e kaya d ko masyado magets yung iba... maraming salamat po...

I will just post this ONCE, so ung mga magtatanong ulit ay hindi ko na sasagutin
And, hindi masyadong Noob friendly etong guide so just ask kung nalalabuan sa instructions (Common sense questions will be ignored)

NOTE : ung links sa page one ay para sa C5502 (HSPA+ units) lang, pag ang device mo ay C5503 (LTE units), may link din sa page ng mga files na kailangan, may instructions din na nasa page 8.

1. You must be on 4.2.2 Firmware and Rooted (Kapag hindi ka pa naka 4.2.2, Download mo ung 4.2.2 firmware [Use Google or look in XDA Forums] then use flash tool to upgrade to 4.2.2, then Download and Use vRoot [Use Google] to root your device).

2. Enable USB Debugging sa developer options (pag walang developer options sa settings, punta ka sa 'About Phone' then click 'Build Number' several times para palabasin ang developer options sa settings)

Additional : back-up your Build.prop (Under System folder) using any root file manager. (I'll explain later why, naka mobile lang kasi ako ngayon)

3. Download niyo ung Original 4.3 ftf firmware, Ung Pre-rooted 4.3 firmware na zip, ung SuperSU Fix na zip at UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.86.zip at ilagay sa External SD Card (Except ung 4.3 ftf file)

Note : I-download niyo ung para sa device niyo (C5503 or C5502), Don't flash LTE files in HSPA+ units and vice versa to avoid problems!

4. Install niyo ung XZR Dual Recovery (May instructions kung pano iinstall, Simpleng follow carefully lang ang gagawin kaya hindi ko na ituturo).

5. Once na-install niyo na ung recovery, mag reboot kayo sa recovery, How? Turn on your phone and turn in back on, kapag nagvibrate na siya habang nakalabas ung Sony Logo, press volume up button repeatedly hanggang mag color Violet ung LED.

6. Once in recovery, Click Install Zip>Install from External SD Card then select and install C550X_Sijav_IJskonijn22_10.4.B.0.569_4.3.zip (X - depende sa device niyo kung C5502 or C5503, so look for the appropriate file, yan ung pre-rooted na 4.3 firmware na zip file)

7. After installing the pre-rooted firmware, install ulit from External SD Card and select SuperSU Fix.zip and then power off after installing it.

8. Using Flashtool, flash the 4.3 Firmware, but before proceeding BE SURE TO TICK/CHECK "Exclude SYSTEM" before flashing, uulitin ko, bago niyo I-flash ang 4.3 Firmware, i-check niyo ung "Exclude SYSTEM" sa flash tool. (Use google on how to use flashtool on how to flash firmwares).

9. After flashing the ftf firmware, reboot again into recovery and install the UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.86.zip (may v1.89 na version, google niyo nalang).

10. Reboot system and you are done!

Notes

- baka mag-taka kayo kung mapansin niyo na walang BE2 effect, open niyo lang ung camera at magtake ng picture, babalik ang BE2

- baka nagbago ang Wifi MAC address niyo, may pang fix na Zip file sa thread

- may mga certain bugs ang 4.3 na hindi naman ganun ka big-deal.

Ahh, ok lang yan, pero dapat may idea ka na din about flashing, rooting, etc. hehe, ako kasi, galing sa Xperia Ray, so medyo big jump ang nangyari, pero madali akong nakahabol kasi almost same lang naman ang methods

ayun! may experience ka pala ng pagroot ng xperia. ang problema kasi, na-patch na yung zergrush exploit kaya hindi na sila nagagamit para sa mga bagong firmware. meron pa mga exploit na nagamit before ma-patch yun completely ng firmware v.67 at v.569.
previously with android 4.2.2, pwede mag-flash ng lumang kernel na pwede i-root gamit ang doomlord's rooting kit, then flash back na lang yung bagong kernel at CWM after running the rooting script.
ngayong 4.3, kung gusto mong makapag-root, kelangan na naka-4.2.2 ka pa at may CWM at ifa-flash mo ang pre-rooted stock firmware. basically, considered na sya na 3rd party ROM

Matagal ko ng minamataan tong ZR, pero malapit na din lumabas yung Z1 compact. Sa tingin nyo po, ano mas prefer nyo yung ZR o Z1 compact? Okay sana yung Z1 compact kaso hindi removable yung battery nya.

Z1 compact is, in all terms, much better than ZR, the non-removable battery is only (I think) its downside.
Kung makakapag hintay ka at may budget ka naman, go with the Z1 Compact, unless kung gusto mo ng removable battery na waterproof

Meron po kasi akong xperia x10 mini e non-removable yung batt. e sira na batt. nya halos di ko na magamit. Natatakot lang ako, baka mangyari ulit kung non-removable na batt. na naman bibilhin ko.

Well, there is always a possibility of everything, pero syempre, depende yan sa life span ng battery, malay mo, mga after two years magpalit ka ulit, pero nasa sayo parin yan at may experience ka na pala, happy choosing
