AFAIK, kernel sources yung crucial sa paggawa ng tun.ko and hindi yung rom mismo.
by definition kasi, some roms contain kernels.
if for example yung GB rom niyo comes with a .32 or .35 kernel which is leaked, therefore, walang sources available to compile the necessary modules. (tulad ng sa SGM ngayon at SGA)
but if the CM7 / GB rom is installed in a kernel with sources (stock or generic or from manufacturer), pwedeng magcompile ng modules kahit .29.x / .32.x / .35.x (tulad ng roms ng SE phones)

sir may tanong po ako.. gumagana na yung openvpn sa x8 stock rom ko dati tapos nung nagupdate ako ng custom rom (froyobread) hanggang get config nalang ako.. ano po kaya problema? sana may makasagot

Post your log here..
If no log..insert this line in your .ovpn config

log /sdcard/openvpn/log.ovpn

reconnect and post here generated log.ovpn file..

Alam ko po pwede sya sa lahat ng android phones. basta follow the tutorial na lang po then make sure tama yung tun.ko file nyo.
