TUTORIAL pfSense Firewall & Router

master how about po sa pag nag browse ang user ng wifi signal then nakita yung sa router ko. then nag access siya. Ang mangyayari po is after clicking my wifi signal, dpt automatic magbubukas browser nya redirecting to a homepage sana. which is gagawin kong login page bago sya magkaron ng internet access. This has something to do with captive portal po di ba? kasama po ba to sa tutorial nyo? thanks ts!

opo captive portal nga po yan..

sa setup ko..ganito...

na detect ni user wifi ko ...
connect sya.
connected na sya.
open sya browser.
lalabas yung portal ko. need nya mag log in. pag di sya nag log in gamit ang tamang id and password. di sya makapag brows. in short, may access lang sya sa internet kapag nag log sya sa portal ko.

kaso yung sakin ginamitan ko ng Active Directory, at ung mga member dun sa AD ko lang ang makapag log sa portal. That way mas ok ang monitoring ko ng IP, usernames ng nag log, at sites na pinupuntahan nila.

nabasa ko sa iba, yung mga non domain na setup.. halimbawa sa shop or sa bahay... "voucher" ang gamit nila...
bibili si user ng "voucher" na may 1hr net access.. pag naubos un, bili ulit.. parang ganun..

DI PA KASAMA YAN SA TUTORIAL KO na nakapost na sa blog. pero TO BE ADDED po. SOON. bwelo lang ako.

pwde naman po kahit wala ng active directory din...check nyo lng sa logs...andun na yung Portal authentication ,dhcp etc..

pag nag generate kana ng 1hr for ex dpo siya pwede i pause para gamitin kinabukasan...consumable na siya..

I am asuperuser po. hahaha sino to? YES talagang magagamit mo yan sa future! andami ko post sa CCSgroup noon (is CCS student ka) pero i think di nila pansin.. sabay mag tatanong sakin panu to panu yun? eh may video at blog na ako para dun.. basa basa din.. hehehe

ako pag may mga tingin ko useful na articles ako na nababasa, kahit di ko pa nmn magagamit agad or sa ngayon, piniprint ko for future use, print ko kasi baka di ko na mahanap ang site or ang content pag need ko na

sir meron akong dito GLOBE adsl router legit po wifi nari yun, pag mag iinstall ba ako ng pfsense dapat may hardware ba akong bibilhin? o wala na,? ano din po yung pfsense box?

tsaka kung ISP > globe modem > pfSense > switch > clients PCs

ano po yang switch na yan hardware po ba yan? thanks in advance, kasi gusto ko po sana mag setup nito. naguguluhan lang po ako salamat..

meron pong hardware na kailangan, at yun nga po ang pfsense box

pfsense box === isang computer system(cpu+board+ram+hdd+nic+etc) na ininstallan mo ng pfsense...

Windows Xp or 7 box means XP or 7 ang naka install. gets mo na siguro so un.. need mo ng hardware, basic pc parts then dun mo install pfsense

SWITCH>> opo network hardware po yan

So ang gagawin mo buo ka ng system unit, kahit low specs lang, 40G hdd, 1g ram, P4 Procie ay ok na pag praktisan lang muna at syempre dalawang NIC or network interface card

yup pwede naman.. pero iba kasi ang goal ng office setup kesa sa shop setup. pag shop kasi more on cache, load balance etc etc...

Di ko po alam yun sir, at di ko rin icocover sa mga tuts na ipopost ko dito at di ko po recommended yun (personal opinion lang)

Caching with lusca is rewarding pag nakuha mo ang saktong templa, pero mahaba habang lutoan yan sir. at base sa mga nababasa at nakikita ko, iilan lang ang may stable na ok ang caching ni lusca..

go give a try po . find other sources and articles nga lang, pasensya na. good luck po

Official packages lang po ang gamit ko sa setup ko kaya yun lang din ang makikita nyo sa guides ko (no Lusca)

about my set up : basic firewalling and routing + web content filtering / blocking + captive portal lang po ang gamit ko kay pfSense sa ngayon.. NO CACHING po. sorry .


ISP > globe modem > pfSense > switch > clients PCs


My pfSense specs:

CPU - Pentium4 3.0Ghz
Board - Old Gigabyte socket775
RAM - 4Gig DDR2 (2x2G)
HDD - Seagate 160G SATA
NIC - 2 Intel Pro/100+

NEXT guide po ay HOW TO SET UP CAPTIVE PORTAL ... gumamit po ako ng WindowsServer Active Directory dito... bago magkarun ng internet connection, need muna nila mag log sa portal using their AD credentials.... so basically mag rereflect sa GUI logs ang username nila and IP.. plus tandem ng SQUID+SQUIDGUARD = no escape.. i mean pag nag open sila ng badsites like Pornsites, huli na agad if sino, anong station, anong oras at anong sites ang inopen .. abangan nyo po if interested kayo

pwede nyo po install sa virtual box lang muna para ma try and test ninyo...

sa virtual pfsense nyo po... dalawang NIC dapat ang i-enable... set NIC1 to Bridge.. set NIC2 to Internal Network...

sa virtual windows/linux pc nyo po... isang NIC lang, then set the network to Internal Network...

(ganyan po ang network seetings ko, try nyo lang din )

ito na po yung Captive Portal
