I still think Archlinux > any distro.

maganda rin yun Archlinux pero mas suggested ko yun ubuntu kasi mas maraming software supported ang Linux

@terriblebush suggested ko po kung naghahanap kayo ng lightweigth na os

ay yun gos os http://www.thinkgos.com/ may built-in narin syang wine

ang arch linux ay kabilang sa red hat family ibang ang execution file nya

hindi deb kundi rpm. pero suggested ko imbest na archlinux e mag

welcome po dito sir! pareho tyo sobrang napabilib ako ng linux saka ng mga masters natin dito. anyway regarding sa question nyo sir, Linux does not need to be defragged, On a linux filesystem, files are placed in non sequential order, therefore allowing the file to remain in one address space when data is added to it, this is the reason fragmentation does not occur, and as long as there's plenty of space.

sa disk cleanup naman po eto po ilagay nyo sa terminal...

sudo apt-get clean ,lilinisin po nyan ang mga downloaded cached files

or pwede rin ang computer janitor or you can try this link

Yup di mo na kailangang mag-defrag sa Linux!.. kasi at a certain point when you open up your Linux box it will do a file system check to ensures file system integrity this usually happens after 25 restarts or so but this only take a few seconds! ... so the DEFRAG word does not really exist on Linux!

A good friend gave me his old Fujitsu Desktop running 900Mhz AMD processor with 1GB of RAM and 40Gb HDD.. it has Windows 95 installed on it and it was running very very very slow! .. so he mentioned he has no use of it, he was thinking perhaps I could use some of the parts for some of my electronic projects, but when I saw the desktop It was still in its pristine condition with minimal scratches!.. so I pull out my USB Linux Installer but unfortunately the old BIOS is not allowing me to boot up from USB port, so I tried using a Linux CD installer but for some reason I have tried several attempts but to no avail!.. there must be some sort of lock or something because for some reason it is only accepting Windows installer disk?!.. so I pulled out its HDD and connect it on a IDE to USB adapter and install Linux Mint 9 directly on HDD and place it back in the desktop and voila! Linux comes to life on an old Fujitsu and now it is up running really fast for an old desktop! heres my 5 years old daughter testing the desktop with her online favorite games! oh and by the way it is now online via wireless connection mod I did when I opened the desktop :excited:
