Gandang araw! kakainstall ko lang po Ubuntu 12.04 LTS together with my Windows XP TrueFaster v5 kagabi, mejo naliligaw pa ko! hehe! hindi ko mainstall ung ibang plug-ins hindi tuloy ako makapag-play ng mp3 music and videos. Can anyone help me out?

may dinownload ako ng os. KAHEL OS po archlinux po ang distribution niya

naistall ko naman po pero nung pag ka restart may error na lumalabas

sige po pag aaralan ko. di man lang ako matulungan ng KAHELOS community pangalawang try ko na ito akala ko kasi magiging maayos na sa liveCD , dati kasi sa USB lng ginamit ko.

---- dude, tama si idol nmsis, mahalaga kasi yung support sa isang linux distro, if no support pick and use another one with better support and stability, hindi mo naman kasi talaga maiiwasan problem at crashes. bakit di mo subukan gamitin UBUNTU? user-friendly un since nagsisimula ka pa lang naman. di naman problema sa apps dahil halos lahat kasi ng linux apps, pede sa lahat ng linux distro maliban siguro dun sa mga distro-specific-apps, distro-dev-apps at package managers. hehe.. try mo CHAKRA katulad din ng KahelOS yun.. --arch linux based din, or archbang.

may nakita po kasi ako dito kung pano maginstall ng modem then sinunod ko mga instructition, dnownload ko po ung tarballz pero hindi ko po alam kung pano ko siya iinstall.

sir hindi na ba kailangan ng username and password dito sa ubuntu pag sa VPN? basta ba config na lang?

1. open terminal and type sudo apt-get install build-essential checkinstall -- need internet connection
2. download source tarball and extract.
3. open terminal and type cd /directory/kung/saan/extracted/ang/tarball --- ex. kung sa home folder, cd /home/<username>/<name of extracted tarball directory>/, cd /home/user/foo
4. type ./configure
5. sudo make
6. sudo checkinstall ---alam ko nareplace na ng "checkinstall" yung "make install" sa ubuntu para maadd sa package manager yung app mo, pero pede padin gamitin yung make install

~ Ano nga pala yung broadband mo? yung tutorial sa page 1 on how to setup usb modem, nasubukan mo na ba gawin?

---- dude medyo madami paraan para makapagdownload ka na katulad ng IDM, ang gamit ko addons ng Firefox, flashgot at downthemall, pero mas malimit gamit ko flashgot at prozilla(terminal-based downloader).

Please visit Page 1 of the thread and read/study the links relating to VPN. Thanks. Username/password requirements vary from one VPN provider to another, hindi po siya Ubuntu-specific na concern kundi VPN-specific.

sir precise pangolin po kasi ko, I was able to set up a mobile broadband connection like don sa link na binigay mo, does it mean na good to go na ung modem ko?

Siguro ang next na gagawin ko po is kung pano gumamit/mag-install ng Vpn particularly TsunamiVpn tsaka Ultrasurf.. Hehe! Pano po kaya sir? :smile:

sir help po ulit di ko po mainstall mga PPA, diba sa may other sources then add type mo yung deb ppa: tapos password then ok na..san mapupunta yung files sir di ko naman mahanap o di lang sya nagupdate sa software center, prozilla po ang gusto ko iinstall

---- ung link na binigay ko kasi initially ay yung steps na dapat gawin mo para makaconnect using usb modem. if it fails then dun ka palang start humanap other options, configuring usbmodeswitch at yung pinaka-last yung compiling na ng applications from source.

At dahil ok naman na yung connection mo using "network manager applet"(binigay ko na link) good to go na yan, naka-connect ka na ba internet?

About VPN naman, punta ka sa first page ng thread na ito, may mga link dun about vpn on ubuntu. --- i don't use vpn.. legit is better..

Just a note, you can't update UBUNTU using vpn and proxy connection.​

---- dude, mas mabilis mag-add ng ppa using terminal, open terminal then type sudo add-apt-repository ppa:<ppa name>

Kakainstall ko lang po ng ubuntu sa pc ko,pwede po bang iinstall ang Internet Download Manager (IDM) sa ubuntu na os? Kung 'di po pwede, meron po bang software na halos kapareho ng IDM para sa ubuntu?
