Microsoft Skips Windows 9, Reveals Windows 10

For now, the focus is on the enterprise with a technical preview expected tomorrow and a full launch in mid-2015.

Microsoft today revealed the next version of Windows, and the updated operating system is skipping over Windows 9 completely and will be known as Windows 10.
An official launch is expected in mid-2015.
The new OS will be Microsoft's most comprehensive platform ever, Terry Myerson, executive vice president for operating systems, said during a small gathering in San Francisco today.

Start menu: The familiar Start menu is back, but it brings with it a new customizable space for your favorite apps and Live Tiles.

Everything runs in a window: Apps from the Windows Store now open in the same format that desktop apps do and can be resized and moved around, and have title bars at the top allowing for maximize, minimize, and close with a click.

Snap enhancements: You can now have four apps snapped on the same screen with a new quadrant layout. Windows will also show other apps and programs running for additional snapping and even make smart suggestions on filling available screen space with other open apps.

New task view button: There’s a new task-view button on the taskbar for quick switching between open files and quick access to any desktops you create.

Multiple desktops: Create desktops for different purposes and projects and switch between these desktops easily and pick up where you left off on each desktop.
Find files faster: File Explorer now displays your recent files and frequently visited folders making for finding files you’ve worked on is easier.

Nag upgrade na ako from windows 8.1 at smooth.. halos ng lahat ng apps ko nagana haha.. Ganda nung multple desktops lol

No, this is just a pre-release (alpha/beta).. Not advisable for primary machine unless you want to take risk...

pwede na ba gamitin ang win 10 as primary OS sir? downloading pa ako eh..

ms office, chrome, skype, yan lang naman madalas ko gamitin na software..

ginawa kong primary akin kasi may image backup ako kung magka aberya pede ako bumalik sa windows 8.1 ko pero so far ang di gumagana sa akin eh cpu-z.. so dapat talagang mag back-up ka.. sa akin kasi sobrang daming apps/games kaya ayoko mag simula sa scratch kaya nag upgrade ako.. btw pede din sya sa games kakatry ko lang kanina.. at least di na nalabas sa start menu di kagaya sa 8.1 napakahassle XD

uu nakita ko yan kanina haha.. gusto ko sa start screen pede ko access yung start button sa lower left.. di ko maacess naman haha for power user menus.. yung ang cons para sa akin.. sana meron din sa lower left part nung sa screenshot ko.. nasanay kasi ako nasa left taskbar.. pumupunta pa tuloy ako sa start button sa taas para lang magamit yung mga options hays XD
