Hi guys,

I started this thread to help everyone wanting a new computer. All you need to do is post the following:
Code:
budget:
usage:

other miscellaneous requirements:

*If to be used for gaming,. please indicate the games you wish to play.

The prices i will be using are those that come from major shops in gilmore and also PCexpress and others... The prices will only reflect that of which on the date of my post.

also please put your requests in this format:

Processor:
Motherboard:
RAM:

Video Card:

Hard Drive:
Optical Drive:

Power Supply:
Casing:

monitor:

Accessories:

please indicate (at least)the size of the hard disk desired, and also what you need/have/prefer.

Thanks.

How to get to Gilmore:
commuting... From EDSA get on the MRT to Cubao and take the other train and get off at Gilmore station. so easy.
driving... Via aurora is the easiest way from EDSA. anyway, just ask na lang cos i dunno where you'll be coming from.

An example post would be as follows:
Hi. Please help me buy a computer for my son. He will be using it mainly for school and some games. He likes to play Dota and L4D. Our budget for the PC would be 20K. We already have a printer, monitor and speakers. Our monitor is a 17" CRT monitor. My son said he prefers 1gb video card.

Thank you.

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose/upgrade your Computer

LGA 1156 = core i5/i3
LGA 1366 = core i7

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose/upgrade your Computer

i would recommend using a branded 650W PSU for a 5850/5870, 850W naman kapag mag CrossFire ^_^

meron din Core i7 na LGA1156^^, Core i7 860

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose/upgrade your Computer

Processor: Intel core 2 duo E7300 @ 2.66 GHz
Motherboard: Intel DG31PR
RAM: Transcend 1Gb DDR2 667MHz

Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 7300 SE/7200 GS

Memory Two 240-pin DDR2 SDRAM Dual Inline Memory Module (DIMM) sockets
Support for DDR2 800 MHz or DDR2 667 MHz DIMMs
Support for up to 4 GBΣ of system memory

Expansion capabilities

Two PCI Conventional* bus add-in card connectors
One PCI Express* x1 bus add-in card connectors
One PCI Express x16 bus add-in card connectors

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose/upgrade your Computer

First of all, to check your power supply, hanapin mo yung sticker na nagsasabing kung ilang amps ang bawat rail...
psu2.jpg
ganito itsura nun.

note: a generic power supply unit(PSU) that has 500W usually only outputs 350W.

moving on...

medyo nagoyo ka ng pinagbilhan mo nyan... ang video card mo ay almost kasing lakas lamang ng onboard mo. so ayun. peo before recommending, kelangan muna malaman ano ang monitor mo at ang max resolution nito.

sa ram naman, standard na halos ang 4gb. pero depende pa rin sa OS na gamit mo. i suggest, just buying a 2gb ram (kung yan 1 gb mo ay single stick) para hindi masayang. nasa 2K ito. wag ka magbabayad more than 2.5K para dun.

let's say makakita ka ng ram na 2K, meron ka 3K para sa VC. 512mb 9500GT DDR3 ay nasa 3K. or, ATi Radeon HD4650 DDR2 ganun din. 1 step further 4670 nasa 3.5K. pwede mo rin i-wait ang lalabas na mga 5650 at 5670. i'm sure nandun din sa price range na yun ang mga yan. according to tom's hardware, top ang 4650.. pero still your choice.

HTH

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose/upgrade your Computer

Cguro sanayan lng iyan noH... malamang computer related natapos mo.

Tiyak makabasag bulsa iyan ... hehehe..:lmao:

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose/upgrade your Computer

^actually it depends. we the Filipino people aren't that behind when it comes to computer parts. sa PChub sa Gilmore, makakabili ka na ng monster rig.

as for the monster rig you are talking about, be prepared to spend close to 200K for it. madali naman kausap mga tao dun, for that price, sila na bahala sa iyo.

pero what separates the ordinary and the best PC are not specs but personalization. kaya after mo bumili ng monster rig (pwede rin bago) visit ka dito. sabihin mo gusto mo gumawa ng million dollar PC and that price is not an object.

Tama si sir 3p, you don't actually need a computer course para makaintindi ng computers, just the drive to know it.

Ako computer related natapos ko, Computer Science to be exact, but I doubt na tama ung tinapos ko kasi nahihilig talaga ako sa computer hardware instead of software.

Side note, tama ulit si sir 3p, the Philippines is not behind when it comes to technology... we are not far behind the times.

The fastest rigs include:

Processors: Intel I7's or AMD Phenom II x4's
Graphics Cards: Nvidia GTX290 or soon the 300's and ATI 5 series
Motherboards: LGA1156 or LGA1333 (and I'm not sure if andito na ung 1600) at mga 790G and higher chipsets naman para sa AMD
Sound Cards: we have from 2:1, 5:1 up to 7:1 surround sound available here, we also have the top producers of speakers like Bose.
Power Supply: We have the dual 500w PSUs to 1000w PSUs and higher here.
Peripherals: To Many to mention (parang slum book lang eh nu?)

well thats the summary... correct me if i'm wrong, di na ako nakapagbasa ng PC Buyer's guide at forums ngayun, dami kasing exams for jobs! 4hours or more pa isa!

Usually, gilmore is the central distribution of high end specs. I've been buying there ever since I've heard of it. Server specs are also available there, Xeon Processors, and if I'm not mistaken, ung Intel Skulltrail nakita ko na din dun. Now that's a literal dual quad core configuration with GTX290 x2 requiring around 1200w of raw power.

The only catch at gilmore is that you'll be spending a lot of time looking around than buying stuff, why? You can haggle prices with them... =)

on a final note... it seems like an insult to filipinos to say that we are not technologically educated... because we really are... we just don't have the time to show it because mas trip natin maglaro at magpayaman kahit hindi naman tayo yumayaman! IMBA!!! hahahaha! Peace, joke lang tong last paragraph. :D

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose/upgrade your Computer

Hahaha, logic lang ah... why would you need 6 cores when you only need 2 to play games?

9600GT all the way... ang match ng 9600GT sa ATI ay ung 4770.

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose/upgrade your Computer

wew.. but when it comes to power, sino ang lamang?

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose/upgrade your Computer

Ok, here's the thing... At lower resolutions... ATI 4670 and Nvidia 9600GT is on par... but on higher resolutions and higher settings, 9600GT kicks but...

Anu price ng 4670 ngayun? Alam ko around the same price siya ng 9600GT, but 9600GT consumes more power, but it more stable at higher resolutions. So... your pick... ako kasi... I'd rather have a card which can go all the way when I upgrade my LCD from 19" to 25". :D

P.S. some games favor 4670 more... like Crysis but on other games, they are much on par if not 9600GT is better. Besides, price wise, pareho sila. Spend a bit more na lang or save bit. go for the GTX250 or 4850 or 4770.

Re: [ADVISE]Help you build/choose/upgrade your Computer

mga sir,

tanong ko lang po sa RAM..

first, eto specifications ko po...

1GB RAM (built-in)
Vcard: SiS Mirage 3 Graphics 256MB (built-in)
MoBo: Asus P5SD2-VM

from dxdiag po yan...
