USB Debbuging must be enabled it is located at Developer options, here is how to unlock it

Go to the Settings, tap About
Scroll down to the bottom, tap Software Information
Now tap the Build number 7 times and it will be unlock


Steps

Install Intel USB Driver and ADB Driver,
connect your phone to PC if its still doesnt recognize your phone install PCLink. To see if your phone is connected check the device manager if there's ASUS Android Device.
Once connected extract the Root Tool on PC anywhere should be fine(use winzip if your getting error)
Run the Zenfone-launcher as admin choose 4 then 2, on your phone wait for a promt check the box then confirm.
After that your phone will reboot, there should be an app called SU on your drawer and update it aswell
To Unroot probably same process(not yet tested, kindly confirm)
