dapat daw talaga generalist ka, karamihan ng company pag nagtitipid gusto lahat ng skills dapat nasayo na.

This is true. I've been a sysad before (pero di malaki sahod), and you will definitely need scripting skills. Eh wala ako alam sa programming, puro si google ang takbuhan ko..

hindi po mahirap maging sys admin as long as you have the motivation to learn Learn LEARN , enjoy it while exploring new things, better to install a linux server or windows server using vmware or virtualbox, make a snapshot and do what ever pleases you, pag mag kamali ka just simply revert to back to where you want

before ako naka pag sysad, nag simula ako from techsupport to IT support then nag helpdesk tas naging IT specialist then move to sys ad, pero dapat ka ring maging motivated and willing to learn and study, mostly rin ako self taught, kahit sa web development inaral ko din pero mostly focus ko infra, i tried downloading resources kasi walang internet non sa bahay, from networking to servers, setup domain from scratch, dhcp, dns and how it works, hahah kahibaw MS exchange installation inaral ko rin, jack of all trades ika nga sabi ng mga ka mobi natin hehe
