1. Download the newest firmware from ASUS support site and save it to your SD card.
2. Access to recovery. Turn off your phone then press and hold "volume -" + "power" at the same time.
3. When you are in recovery, use volume - to move and click power button to select "update firmware from micró SD card". Choose your downloaded firmware file press power button to start process. Then reboot.
You have successfully flash a new Firmware on your Asus zenfone Max.
Note: Don't try flash a previous version firmware (lower version than your phone) downgrade may not work with this solution. With this tutorial you can also fix your bootlooped phone.
