Re: Actions speak louder than words.

ahaha ..

That is the problem. :)

Before you step-on the beliefs of non-Muslims. Teach your fellow Muslims first how to be a good Muslim. ;)

Ok yun diba?

Because action speak louder than words. What you are selling us are mere words of supremacy. Words that say some text are superior to another set of texts. Actions please not words, not attacking other beliefs. :)

I am not stepping the belief and doctrines of other religion. I created this thread so people especially Filipino really understand Muslim in the Philippine and give some information about the Islam.

2. Qur'an is the only religious scripture in the world that says 'marry only one' Qur'an is the only religious book, on the face of this earth, that contains the phrase 'marry only one'. There is no other religious book that instructs men to have only one wife. In none of the religious scriptures like the Vedas, the Ramayan, the Mahabharat, the Geeta or the Bible does one find a restriction on the number of wives. According to these scriptures one can marry as many as one wishes. It was only later, that the Hindu priests and the Christian Church restricted the number of wives to one.

List of Wives and Concubines of Muhammad
From WikiIslam, the online resource on Islam

According to multiple sources, Muhammad had many wives and concubines.

Muhammad married 15 women and consummated his marriages with 13. (al-Tabari vol.9 p.126-127)
"The Prophet used to visit all his wives in a round, during the day and night and they were eleven in number." - Sahih Bukhari 1:5:268

[edit] Wives

The following is rough list of Muhammad’s wives, according to various Islamic sources[1]. It is possible that this number may still fall short of the actual number of wives he had.

Khadija/Khadijah[2]
Sauda/Sawda bint Zam'a/Zam’ah [3]
'A’isha [4]
A’isha’s Slaves [5]
‘Umm Salama [6]
Hafsa/Hafsah [7]
Zainab/Zaynab bint Jahsh [8]
Juwairiya/yya/yah [9]
Omm/Umm Habiba [10]
Safiya/Safiyya/Saffiya [11]
Maimuna/Maymuna bint Harith [12]
Fatima/Fatema/Fatimah [13]
Hend/Hind [14]
Sana bint Asma’ / al-Nashat [15]
Zainab/Zaynab bint Khozayma/Khuzaima [16]
Habla [17]
Divorced Asma’ bint Noman [18]
Divorced Mulaykah bint Dawud [19]
Divorced al-Shanba’ bint ‘Amr [20]
Divorced al-‘Aliyyah [21]
Divorced ‘Amrah bint Yazid [22]
Divorced an Unnamed Woman [23]
Qutaylah bint Qays [24]
Sana bint Sufyan [25]
Sharaf bint Khalifah [26]

[edit] Concubines

According to Merriam-Webster, a concubine is "a woman with whom a man cohabits without being married: as a: one having a recognized social status in a household below that of a wife".[27]

Many hadith specifically state that Muhammed had concubines. Here are a few of them:

Mary/Mariyah the Copt/Christian [28]
Rayhana/Raihana/Rayhanah bint Zaid/Zayd [29]
Divorced Omm/Umm Sharik / Ghaziyyah bint Jabir [30]
Maymuna / Maimuna [31]
Zainab [32]

Re: Actions speak louder than words.

1.Quran was never been revise from the date that prophet mohammad (Peace be upon him) receive its revelation.

The Satanic Verses are a small number of apparently pagan verses that were supposedly temporarily included in the Qur'an by the Islamic prophet Muhammad, only to be later removed. Narratives derived from hadith involving these verses can be read in, among other places, the biographies of Muhammad by al-Wāqidī, Ibn Sa'd (who was a scribe of Waqidi), al-Tabarī, and Ibn Ishaq (the last as reconstructed by Alfred Guillaume).
...
The Satanic Verses incident is reported in the tafsir and the sira-maghazi literature dating from the first two centuries of Islam,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satanic_Verses

@pcruztemp

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satanic_Verses

as what my brother nickalai said your source is from untrusted site about Islam.

but we want to clarify this issue...and to make it clear that this story is false!

Surah An-Najm: Chapter 53 revealed 5th year of his Prophethood.

@ Chapter 53 located the false claim about satanic verse.

Surah 53:19-20 it states that..

[053:019] Have you then considered Al-Lât, and Al-'Uzzâ (two idols of the pagan Arabs)

[053:020] And Manât (another idol of the pagan Arabs), the other third?

the false claim is that next right after this verse it was written...

'those are the high-flying cranes and indeed their intercession is to be hoped for'

Surah Al-Isra: Chapter 17 was revealed 11th years of Prophethood.

Chapter 17:73-75
false claim saying that Allah sent down this verse to rebuke the statement of Prophet Muhammad about the satanic verse made by Prophet Muhammad.

Surah Al-Hajj: Chapter 22 was revealed 13th years of Prophethood.
false claim that it was sent to abrogate the satanic verse.

it is 8 years after from the satanic verse were revealed? so, within that eight years Muhammad
and his companions accompanying the pagans in their prayers ? how crazy is that?

and why is it, the idol worshipper continue to persecuting all the Muslims if their idols where praised?

Islam teaches about the Oneness of Allah or the Tawhid and Islam very strict on this topic.

:peace:

Good point.
I have many frat brods from mindanao, and they are also dismayed sa perception ng mga tao towards muslims in general. especially how the media portrays them.
I remember one time, may nabalita sa Morocco na a 16-year-old girl was raped; she was forced by a judge to marry her rapist instead. She later killed herself in protest. And this is just one instance. Cases like these happen a lot in other Islamic countries.
There are many educated Muslims around the world who fight to reform these laws and traditions that date back to the time of the Old Testament.
But they are seldom heard.

Thank you for your very well thought analysis.

Perception and image are driven by two things. External and internal forces. Media, externally, is a reaction that happened internally (by Muslims among Muslims).

I guess as you pointed it out there is a trend and phenomena that happens a lot in Muslim countries.

The difference is you were able to tell us the story of the raped 16-year old girl because of the information age and democracy (Tri-media plus Internet). Before you wouldn't even hear a thing like this. Now we are learning that similar to "rido" it is a culture or a tradition.

Your challenge of education is the key, and I enthusiastically agree on that point but you and I know that reform will only start among themselves. That is the greatest challenge.

There are many educated Muslims around the world who fight to reform these laws and traditions that date back to the time of the Old Testament.
But they are seldom heard.

I agree. Liberal Muslims are edged out in their home countries more often than not by radical Islamist. Look at the things happening in Egypt after Mubarak.

There are two components of the problem "seldom heard."

In International media western + eastern (India and China) Liberal Muslims are reported and heavily syndicated. In the grassroots arena, it is heavily shared on Facebook, blogs, and other social Web 2.0 technologies.

One the other hand, the question is are they heard in Muslim countries by Muslim themselves? This is the most important component of that problem "seldom heard."

Again like education, the voices of Liberal Muslims will only have meaning if the movement starts within and among Muslim communities themselves.

I hope more fellow Symbianizers Muslim and infidel alike will engage in discussions such as our posts.

This is what I want to point out about Muslim. ...

Even Muslims admit that there are Muslims .. They can't say that they are fully Muslim if they did not Follow the doctrine and the principles of Islam. The problems you are elaborating is just a problem in our society, meaning its an external factors effect the Muslims communities.

Moreover, like the christian they admit themselves to be Christian but if they cannot follow the principle and doctrine of Christianity we can say that they are not fully christian.

gusto ko lang sagutin yun tungkol sa pugot ulo. i want to explain this logicaly.

according to sharia Law is blood for blood, or blood money.

"Persecution is worse than slaughter."
pag nakapatay ang tao, ang parusa is death penalty.
ang process is beheading by a powerful and very sharp arabian sword,
in just 0.3 seconds, the head is completely dismiss, to avoid severe pain.
however; if the family of the victim is accepting the appology of the murderer and completely forgiven therefore the case is close.

so it means slaughter na to.

Muslim believe in hereafter.
so kung tinanggap ng murderer ang death penalty sa mundo; atleast quits na siya sa torment ng God sa day of judgement dahil sa kasalanan niyang pumatay.
God is severe in punishment.

blood money; if the murderer is asked for blood money by the victims family to skip death penalty, dapat niya ito e provide to dismiss his/her case.

Here are my questions:

1. If Islam indeed teaches peace, then why there are SOME Muslims who justify acts of terrorism through the Koran?
2. What does "death to all infidels" actually mean? Many people take this as all non-Muslims in general. This gives the wrong perception that Muslims try to convert everyone to their side and will kill anyone who refuse to convert to Islam. And that is bad.
3. What are the so-called "72 virgins in heaven"? It is said that Muslim terrorists aim for this so they adhere to the "death to all infidels" described above.

"death to all infidels"

You may read this article to clarify you question.

http://www.muslimaccess.com/articles/jihad/kill_the_infidels.asp

"72 virgins of heaven"

"The Qur'an doesn't talk about 72 virgins, only the hadiths"
Even though the Qur'an does not mention the number of virgins, it does say in verse 56:36[25] that Muslim men will be awarded with virgins in Paradise. The Qur'an describes their physical attributes, for example they will have large eyes (56:22) and big breasts (78:33)[17] and so on. The actual number of houri is thus a minor issue and 72 is the number of those houris confirmed in multiple hadith. The hadiths are a crucial part of Islam and certain Muslims ignore them because sometimes they contain uncomfortable details about Islam. There are many hadiths and Qur'anic verses which talk about various issues of a sexual nature. According to Sahih Bukhari 1:5:268 which belongs to the most authentic collection of hadiths, Muhammad himself was given the sexual strength of 30 men and so on.

Thank you for answering my questions. I liked that pic, btw.

Muslim protestors gathered in London on Sunday calling for aspects of Sharia law to be introduced in Britain. The rally turned into chaos, sparking a counter-demonstration by English right-wing nationalists.

“We find many of these people who call for human rights and one law,” said Asad Ullah, member of the Muslims against the Crusades group. “They come and they say that they want equality. But what equality do you get when one man legislates over another? Is he not more superior than you? You are worshipping him by submitting to and obeying his laws… We will get oppression like this until we all submit to one law, and that is the law of God.”
