Hello.
Ngayon lang nagkalakas ng loob. Haha
Just posting some of my drawings, from old to the more recent. Most are original characters.
Sa old muna tayo magsimula, pre-Wacom Bamboo days. :P
These are pencil drawings. Yung iba may inks para sa outline. Yung colors sa PS lang nilagay/ginawa.

Sa ngayon medyo iba na style ko saka mostly digital na, pero comments are welcome.

actually frustration ko yung maging comic book artist, kaya mapapansin mong karamihan original characters yung drowing ko.
real life ang priority ngayon kaya hobby na lang uli yung pagdodrowing.

Corel Painter. Corel Painter 2016 ang latest version.
Maganda siyang gamitin kung natural media ang effect na gusto mo.
Gusto ko lang yung parang rough yung dating ng karamihan ng gawa ko, 'di tulad sa Photoshop.

actually, nung una lang ako nagkulay sa photoshop. nung may wacom pen and tablet na nag-shift ako sa painter.

nag-join na ako sa Guhit Pinas, kaso nag-aalangan pa akong mag-post. baka magka-issue kasi hindi legitimate yung software tools na ginagamit ko. nagtanong na ako tungkol don kaso wala pang feedback.

nice, buti yung katropa mo nakakapag-commission na. ganon din sana balak ko kaya ako bumili ng wacom kahit entry-level lang. digital art nga lang. 'di pa matuloy, same issue sa tools. hehe

um, depende. yung mga lumang drawings puro pencil lang sa bond paper. p-in-icture-an lang (kasi walang scanner), tapos digitally inked saka colored.
yung mga bago kadalasan digital na agad, mula sketch/draft.

Note: Basic version lang 'to ng ginawa ko.

1. Inked drawing on bond paper. Pencil muna, tapos ginamitan ko ng 0.3 saka 0.5 na technical pen ba 'yon? P-in-icture-an ng cellphone camera, then cropped.
2. Photoshop*: Clean and move line art as a separate layer.
   • Levels, and "painting" to clean the white areas when necessary.
   • Select (CTRL+A) and copy (CTRL+C) the whole image. Go to Channels tab, create new channel, then paste. Invert that channel para maging white lines on black bg.
   • Load yung new channel (CTRL + left click) as selection. Go to Layers tab, create new layer, select line art color (black), fill selection.
   • Click on the bg layer, select all (CTRL + A), select bg color (white), fill uli.
   • Rename layers accordingly. Sa ibabaw yung Line art layer, sa ilalim yung Background layer.
   • Save. PSD ginamit ko, kasi nao-open din siya sa Painter.
3. Painter:
   • Paint on the Background layer. Neutral color lang, para 'di aagaw ng atensyon sa subject.
   • Create Color layer sa gitna ng Line art at Background.
   • Color flats sa Color layer: paint basic colors ng subject.
4. Shadows and highlights:
   • Pwedeng gumawa ng separate layers para sa Shadows saka Highlights, sa ibabaw ng Color layer. Pang-practice ko lang 'to kaya 'di ako gumawa.
   • Gumamit ng darker version ng kulay para sa shadows, at lighter version ng kulay para sa highlights. 'Pag black and white ang ginamit parang patay ang kulay na kalalabasan.
   • Kinulayan ko din pala yung lines para mas mukhang natural yung image. Click the Line art layer, turn on the Transparency lock (mayroon nito sa Photoshop saka sa Painter), pumili ng much darker version ng kulay (dark brown para sa skin, dark orange para sa buhok, etc.), tapos kulayan yung mga parts na 'yon. Tandaan lagi yung mga naka-on/off na features, o yung mga naka-load/unload na selection, at active na layers, etc.
5. Fine-tuning/Finalize:
   • Darker shadows, lighter highlights.
   • Secondary lighting, binase ko sa kulay ng background.
   • Tweaks and effects. Tweaks sa kulay (influence ng kulay sa iba't-ibang parts ng subject, ex. yung effect ng orange na buhok sa skin color saka sa outfit). Kaunting effect na based sa background, na medyo dark yung gilid ng image, tapos mas light malapit sa mukha.
   • Text. Nag-eyedropper tool lang ako para galing din sa image yung kulay ng text. Laro-laro na lang sa layer effects saka blending mode.

*Nakita ko lang, Beginners' Guide to Adobe Photoshop ni ka-symb pandasauure, saka Adobe Photoshop Starters ni ka-symb tazzky.

• Before (left): Pencil drawing ng kabarkada ko, ng character niya. Nalimutan ko kung anong soft (B) pencil ginamit niya, saka kung cellphone camera o digital camera pinangkuha ng pic.
• After (right): Inked with minor corrections sa proportions/symmetry ng mukha saka waistline hanggang hips. Yung colors ng subject saka overall atmosphere ng image base sa specifications ng creator.

2. Painter: cleaned line art.
3. Painter: basic tone.
4. Background, some corrections suggested by the author, and more values.
   • Background. Nalimutan ko kung anong gradient type sa Photoshop.
   • Corrections and values. Medium length na wavy daw kasi dapat yung buhok. Additional values. Painter.
5. Effects. Photoshop brush light effect (top of image; sorry 'di ko na-note yung source). Brushed light effect for the rest, using Painter.
6. Colors and city skyline background.
   • Colors. Colored using layer with Colorize or Color blending mode (Painter). Colorize yata.
   • City skyline background. Another Photoshop brush na 'di ko na-note yung source. >_<
7. Photoshop: text. Medyo mahirap basahin 'tong unang nagawa ko, kaya naging yung nasa final image.

Started out something for practice, dahil nakapanood ako ng live stream ni idol Artgerm earlier this week. >_<

- - - 2016.03.24: Finished grayscale. Yay! - - -

Line art, ink on typewriting paper. Nalimutan ko na kung cellphone camera o digital camera pinangkuha.

Cleaned line art.

Background color changed to light gray. Subject blocked with a single color.

Sinimulan kong i-lighten yung parts ng subject.

Puro refinements...

Hanggang maging ok* ako sa progress ko...

*Walang 100% na finished sa mga original work kasi laging may room for improvement.
Pero kung lagi kang mag-a-adjust, hindi ka matatapos. At some point you just have to let it go... :P

Lastly, colorization sa Photoshop gamit ang gradient may at kaunting brush strokes.

Last na talaga. Dark-colored layer on top na pinaglaruan ko lang yung blending mode, dahil ganitong mood yung gusto ko para sa image. Saka text** para mukhang legit. Haha

This is an original character na ginawa ko nung nasa high school. Member of a three-man team. Yung dalawang teammates niya characters ng kabarkada ko.
'Yan ang nagagawa ng inggiterong walang pambili ng comics, at nakarami ng panonood ng animé at superhero cartoons: umiimbento ng sariling characters.
