Give me enough reason why macbook is a good buy?

Depende sa use. I got both systems (win desktop and macbook) I only use my desktop for gaming, and my macbook for music, photo editing and work (almost everything). If I am to be asked if worth it? Yes, nasulit ko na yung 50k na ginastos ko. 6 years na since I got mine, and I think bawi na ang kapital, kumikita pa (I use it for work/business). Got an applecare warranty, bago mag expire after 3 years, I even had my macbook replaced for a brand new model for free. Recurring kasi yung hot pixel issue ko. Warranty policy ng apple ang pinaka gusto ko, madali kausap, halos walang repair repair,m palit lang. Works for them, less time to be wasted+happy customer= better profit.


1 more thing.

I remember yung Honor/Honesty policy ng Apple regarding their OS's. When I purchased my Snow Leopard OS, there are 2 variants. Single user and family. Pero according to 2 of my friends na bumili pareho, wala silang pinag iba. Pero mac users still follow the honor code. Wala kasing license license or serial serial sa OSX, honor and honesty lang, hehe. In line with this, there was a research made re: OS Sales for that year, head to head yata ang win 7 vs Snow leopard, it came out na nanalo pa ang Snow Leopard, kung ano pa yung pwede at madaling i exploit.

I'm not bashing nor flaming a pc vs mac war, just want to share my experience and stories.

because it's overpriced and overrated, binayaran mo lang yung name ng apple. ung mga lumang macs hindi rin maupdate sa mavericks...

Macbook is unique high-end design. and even though they will update with designs parang hindi naluluma ung mac mo kasi pareho lang ang design. nag uupgrade lang sa specs. Kung sobra ang budget mo then go for MacBook. Pero kung tama lang, then sa pc ka na lang dahil baka bukas wala ng panggastos hehehehehe........

MAC ba? Pc pa rin ako. At yang mga claims ng naka MAC na parang kala mo sobrang ganda ng MAC na parang galing to sa ibang planeta sa pagka high tech e mejo exaggerated na yan. Una ang mga naka mac kadalasan e di masyado marurunong sa computer. Technician ako alam ko sinasabi ko. Kaya pag narinig nilang malupit ang MAC malupit na talaga yan para sa kanila. Madami daw error ang PC pag tumatagal. Kung alam mo ginagawa mo sa computer mo kahit nagkamali ka maibabalik mo sa dati. Sa PC marerecover mo ang mga error na mangyayari basta alam mo ang huli mong nagawang mali. Registry wag pakialaman pag di alam ang ginagawa. Maganda ang MAC. Maporma. Pero di pa rin yan ganun katindi kung lalabanan pa rin yan ng mga high end na PC.

Simple, kasi and MAC OS ay maganda ang security. Hindi siya madaling ma virusan compare mo sa WINDOWS OS. Iba ang architecture ng MAC sa WINDOWS. Yung virus sa WINDOWS kapag napasa mo sa MAC through usb flash drive, hindi gagana yung virus kasi nga iba yung architecture ng MAC. Napaka konti ng virus sa MAC compare mo sa WINDOWS. Sa totoo nga lang eh pwede mo gamitin ng safe ang MAC kahit walang antivirus kung office/home use lang kasi may sarili siyang security features.

Matagal na ako gumagamit ng windows pero nung nag self study ako ng app at web development mas nagustuhan kong gumamit ng Macbook.

Simplicity at mabilis with less worries. Medyo may kamahalan lang pero sulit naman talaga.

Di nga lang siguro sa gaming pero mas maganda ang nagiging resulta ng pag gamit nito. Nakakapukaw ng paggiging creative. The best din ang battery life.

We know that majority ng world population eh naka Windows pa rin sa business man o sa bahay kaya ito ang naguudyok sa mga hackers gumawa ng virus na puro pang windows.

Baliktarin natin yan if in case Majority ng World population eh naka Mac natural lang higher ang risk nito at mapipilitan ang mga hacker na magdevelop ng viruses for Mac kasi ayun ang trending. You can't say kagad na maganda or matindi ang security nito dahil lang super konte ang viruses na targeted or intended for Mac.

This is why hindi sya madaling mavirusan kasi existing viruses for Mac is almost next to zero or walang gaanong nagddevelop kasi hindi naman trending ito gawan ng virus kasi most businesses on corporate environment eh naka Windows. Kaya ang isang hacker na gusto makuha ang PIN codes, email password and bank account infos ng isang CEO eh most likely will develop a virus or a trojan for Windows to have a complete access sa system ng corporation or bahay ng CEO na targetted nya.

Pero to be fair...when you really compare Windows' security sa Mac's security.. mas angat ang security features ng Mac..pero regarding how strong it is..is still untested or unchallenged kasi majority ng viruses eh pang Windows.

Anyway, para kay TS:
If you still want a laptop but can't afford or hesitant to afford a Macbook pero gusto mo yung hindi ka navvirusan. Install Linux such as Ubuntu or Linux Mint. Most Linux OS are free, small to download and easy lang to install kaysa sa Windows.

Both Mac,Linux eh iisa lang naman ang base ancenstry nila. Pero Mac and Linux eh hindi nagkakalayo magkaiba lang sa core or kernel level. Gayun din hindi gagana ang Windows viruses sa Linux. The usage and style din ng Mac eh hindi nagkakalayo sa Linux.

Pagdating naman sa performance ng Linux, for instance meron ako asus netbook which is 4gb lang memory at nakainstall ang Linux Mint 24/7 sya nakabukas at nkaplug ang charger plge nakabukas at walang sarahan ng firefox. after 3 weeks of usage I decided to restart and firefox asked me if I want to save the session with "157 tabs". Yes burara ako 157 ang tabs sa firefox nakabukas. pero after looking sa System Monitor(Task Manager) consumption lang ng total memory eh 1.7-2gb lang and that's 3 weeks walang patayan and no slowdowns or crashes. You can have that kind of performance both sa Macbook and also sa laptop na may Linux.

Doing the same thing sa Windows 7 na laptop ko with 8gb of memory eh usually nagsslow down na at ang total memory consumption eh nagttop to 4gb to 5gb kasi the longer nakabukas firefox/chrome/IE sa Windows eh patuloy na lumalaki ang memory consumption ng browsers nito lalo na kapag maraming tabs nakabukas. I am not sure why ganun sa windows pero sa Mac at Linux eh taas baba ang memory consumption ng browsers mas efficient ang memory control nya. Pero sa windows eh taas lang ng taas palage may leak sa memory.

So if tight budget ka bili ka na lang ng good laptop with Ubuntu na nakainstall. Mas cheaper ito sa Laptop or netbook na may Windows 8 na nakainstall kasi bnbayaran mo din ang Windows while Linux its free. kaya mas cheaper ang laptops with Linux OS preinstalled with the same specs. Nakatipid ka na at para ka na rin naka Macbook na super stable din. If you have the money go buy a macbook its a good product din kasi may support.

madali lang ang paliwanag dito with regards sa OS at hardware. Ang MS kasi ginawang pang masa, supported nya halos lahat ng hardware and users friendly kaya mas marami talaga ang users nito at yumaman ng husto at sumikat. while apple have their own harware and software na halos para sa KANYA lang talaga kaya more stable at walang halong kalokohan. Base from the history apple ang nauna sa lahat ng concept with regards sa mga OS features at halos gumagaya lang si MS. Eto rin ang alam kong dahilan kung bakit hanggang ngayun hindi tinatantanan ng mga hackers si MS dahil sa ginawa nyang pamimirata. pansin nyo rin na pag may bagong labas na OS version sila kasunod na agad ang cracks at mga keygen nito para ma pirata.. pero sa performance it depends talaga sa sa type ng users yan.. kayo na bahala mag husga..

some pc with high specs po are much higher ang price compared sa mac. example are dell xps series, alienware series and if sa desktop videocard pa lang po could cost you 20k or much higher for some. basic lang po ang nasa market na price na kinocomapred natin sa mac. if you want to build a rig it could cost 200k or higher for some units.

os in mac is not open source kaya mahirap magawan ng virus and all aplications intended for mac are digitally signed ng mac mismo. and syempre application for mac are for mac only and windows are for windows. widely used ang windows compared sa mac,

There are reasons that might make you want a Macbook (These reasons obviously comes from Me which does not own a Macbook).

but anyway here they are:

*Macbook has superior quality (how do I know? I've already tried using an iPhone and I can say that it is a quality item, that is just my guess because it comes from the same manufacturer it would have the same quality and they'll be both well built).

*It runs Mac OSX which we all know is very fast, fluid and well written.

*It works (That being said, don't take it literally, of course it works, who wants one that doesn't? anyway what I'm trying to point out is that it is user-friendly unlike windows and linux, maybe some of you might oppose and say that windows is more user-friendly than OSX, that is because we were first introduced to machines that run windows, but if you think about it, it will turn out that the mac is even more user-friendly).

*Well I can't think of another reason, but I will just support the point that I've stated earlier "The Macbook works because it is easy to be with".


You'd rarely hear that from a non-apple fan, but I've said that because Apple products are really good.
Now if you are planning to buy a Macbook, you may consider my reasons why you should.

I'm a IT consultant, and rarely suggested mac to my clients...
specially to image and video rendering clients...
and those who use mac, they still install windows either bootcamp or parallels...

I could afford and have both...
yung macbook pro mid-2013, anak ko na 5 years old ang madalas gumagamit for fb, youtube, and online games...
akin is an old-good buddy, acer 4750g...

the simplest thing to put it all up is...
kung gusto ng cost-efficient pc, at marami nagagawa, go for windows-based pc's....

another thing is, os-x is not an open-source os...
its a closed-source with open-source components....

when it comes to virus, they both have have, the thing is mas marami lang pang windows...
kasi kumbaga sa puno, kung ano ang mabunga, yun ang madalas batuhin...
and the worst side of less common virus for mac is, hindi mo alam na may virus ka na pala then important info na ang kinukuha ng hindi mo alam...
