Okay, for fun's sake, let's assume that Flew did indeed become a deist. The question is: do you even have the slightest idea what kind of god, or concept of god, he finally surrendered his increasingly deteriorating brain matter to? No? Then you must search for Aristotle's god: that Unmoved Mover or Prime Mover who cares not an iota about anything outside of itself or the universe or the world or what color you will give each of your toenail for that matter. How's that? Aristotle's god is not your ordinary god. It is beyond being affected or actively affecting anything. All it ever does is contemplate about itself. Nothing else. Now tell me, would you like this god?

Good question.

Before proceeding to answer this question there are few things that I wanted to establish:
(1) The length of "Day" in Genesis is not merely a 24 day. Sa Genesis 1:5, sabi ng Diyos, na hinati nya ang araw sa maliliit na araw... tinawag nyang ang liwanag bilang araw at ang dilim bilang gabi. Sa Genesis 2:4 yung buong 6 days ng creation ay tinuring nyang isang "Araw". Sa hebrew ang salitang araw ay maraming kahulugan... peding 24 hrs, pede tin namang period of time na may special event na nagaganap. Halimbawa ang buhay ng isang tao (pagpalagay ng mga 60 years) can also be called araw ng buhay nya.
(2) The way the bible is written is on the standpoint of a writter is seeing the event... Not on God's view. So events describe would be as if you are in a place where it is taking place...
(3) The bible creation talks about how God prepared the Earth for human habitat... it does not talk about how the whole universe was created. Although at Genesis 1:1 it simply state to show tha God created the whole universe: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth". Note of 2 things, in the verse, heavens is plural and earth is singular. After stating that God created the heavens and the earth, it also mentioned on verse 2 that the earth was formless (void) and dessolated, it then proceeded in showing how the earth was prepared for human habitat.

Now that That is out of the way....

"'Let light come to be', Then there came to be light. And God began calling the light Day, but the darkness he called Night. And there came to be evening and there came to be morning, a first day." (Gen 1:3,5).

The Sun and the moon were already created prior to "first day" but their light did not yet reach the surface of the earth for an earthly observer to see. Now, light became visible but not yet very clear perhaps because of fogs, dust and small particles, etc. hence the light seen here is a diffused light over an overcast. Apparently the light came gradually and not instantly.

(I am gonna skip all the other days of creation to make this reply as short as posible and will only show the event being asked)

Previously, on the first “day,” the expression “Let light come to be” was used. The Hebrew word there used for “light” is?’ohr, meaning light in a general sense. But on the fourth “day,” the Hebrew word changes to ma·’ohr′, which means the source of the light. On the first “day” diffused light evidently penetrated the swaddling bands, but the sources of that light could not have been seen by an earthly observer because of the cloud layers still enveloping the earth. Now, on this fourth “day,” things apparently changed.

An atmosphere initially rich in carbon dioxide may have caused an earth-wide hot climate. But the lush growth of vegetation during the third and fourth creative periods would absorb some of this heat-retaining blanket of carbon dioxide. The vegetation, in turn, would release oxygen—a requirement for animal life.

Now, had there been an earthly observer, he would be able to discern the sun, moon and stars, which would “serve as signs and for seasons and for days and years.” (Genesis 1:14) The moon would indicate the passing of lunar months, and the sun the passing of solar years. The seasons that now “came to be” on this fourth “day” would no doubt have been much milder than they became later on.—Genesis 1:15; 8:20-22.
