Hello Guys, just want to ask some OT question.. is age really matter whern you are seeking a job?
First Condition.
when you're age is 22+ and still studying.. is there chance to have a job in IT industry??

Second Condition..

When you're age is 22+ already graduated and being bum in 1 yr.. is there any chance that companies still hires you??

is age really does matter or skills really matter???

Sa field po ng I.T. i think age doesnt really matter, experience does though. and para po ksi sakin TS passion po sa field ng I.T. ang pagiging isang I.T. sa school lang po yun kinokonsider na course. You will encounter much much worst headaches than other fields can offer pro still ayaw mo paring bumitiw :D

"When you're age is 22+ already graduated and being bum in 1 yr.. is there any chance that companies still hires you??" - I.T. per se does not discriminate, just sharpen your axe at your own pace. if you have the knowledge and experience, I dont think the big companies will still not hire you.

yes, there are companies who seek people with work experiences, but I bet na meron ding tanggapin ka kahit wala pa.
here's the point however: wag mag expect ng malaking salary lalo kung fresh graduate palang, but still it depends.
halimbawa, you have certifications kunwari na Oracle Java Certified Java SE 8 Programmer, I believe it may change things a little, lalo kung Java ang heavily used language sa company, or isa yun sa mga importanteng PL's sa kanila. (if you can't see the impact nitong example ko, maybe of course you heard the certifications of Cisco nung nagaaral ka pa, and how it weighs to be certified in Cisco Systems. kasi ako nung Networking subject days ko, madalas nababanggit yun samin at yung importansya nya. but, certifications tend to be very pricey (you can check their prices online)).

my two cents:
experiences are not important in getting an IT job, experiences maybe important in getting a GOOD IT job though.
skills on the other hand are very important (and like I'm telling previously, can be proved by taking certification exams, but there may be other ways than that but I believe it's the common way)

I don't know if it is true for big companies, kasi maliit na company lang yung 2 nag-offer sa akin (isang based sa Japan, isa sa US).

Understand that each company is different. They may have standards to implement and laws to abide, preventing them from making employment-discrimination decisions based on the job applicant's age, gender, race, ethnicity, etc. It doesn't matter if the company is local or international- based. However, not everyone follows that rule. IF that ever happens to you, if you feel like you have been discriminated, the only thing you can do is to find another company to apply for. And if you must, file a report with the governing body overseeing workplace discrimination. Remember, in our line of work, we will never run out of job opportunities. You just need to prove to your potential employer how talented and skilled you are and what you can do with it. It all boils down to your technical skills (and some wit coupled with luck).

For me TS ang pghahanap ng I.T job ay parang PAG-IBIG, age doesn't matter. Kwento ko experience ko about my lovelife ung gf ko 4 years ung gap namin, haha seryoso na, I 'm an IT grad., 5 years ako sa college kc ngtransfer ako ng university tapos 6 months ako tambay and then first job ko was in Sales field. 6 months ako dun. After another 6 months of pagtambay ulit I was hired by one of the largests IT company here in the Philippines. Pero during that time before I was hired by this company I kept practicing my craft so yun. Andito p din ako and I was just got promoted after a year. Saka another thing, Dont lose confidence and hope and always pray :)

hello boss curious ako sa case mo hehe kasi gusto ko talagang job e IT related kaso ung natapos ko ang layo sa IT , ano bang 1st step ginawa mo para makapasok sa IT field? ano anong mga language pinag aralan mo? at kung ano nga pala job mo ngayon kung pwede lang malaman hehe

Share ko lang experience ko. I'm already 26, turning 27 this year, at ngaun lang ako nakakuha ng I.T. job na gusto ko which is Network Engineer. I was a Web Publisher bago ako naging network engineer at nahirapan talaga ako mag hanap kasi puro mga may experience ang kinukuha.

Nag-aral ako ng PHP a week before nung job interview. Two days after ng interview may job offer na agad so tinanggap ko na.

Web Developer pa rin ako hanggang ngayon. Pero freelancer.
