Anyway f/1.7 aperture nya kaya ganda ng bokeh nya even without the help of a secondary camera.

from Note4 onwards sa Samsung may camera mode po na focus...
if yun pinili mo maganda ang bokeh effect nya.

alfternative po is using afterfocus camera app also captures same effect

1st of all I salute huawei for their successful marketing strategy.

Actually matagal ng nakakagawa ng ganyan yung mga phones nuon hindi lang bulgar masyado compare nowadays because of the internet and social media.

We need 2 ingredients para makagawa ng bokeh at depth of field photo.

1st Autofocusing
2nd Wide aperture

Regarding aperture, afaik eh dalawang phone models lang meron variable and that is Nokia N86 and Samsung Pixon 12MP they can switch the actual opening of the lens either to gather more light or to lessen which is not in the case of huawei's P series. Yes we can see in their camera app the aperture settings and I say that is not the actual opening of the lens but rather a "Simulation" of what it looks like and of course with the help of a secondary camera sensor.

Taken by an old school camera phone Nokia N82, 2008 model, old camera sensor with no fancy software algorithms and of course no advance 3rd party photo editing tool. Taken June 13, 2010.

Before depth of field can only achieved by close-up subjects.

Huawei P series can achieved depth of field without the help of a secondary camera sensor but what huawei did was an innovation of the usual depth of field with the help of its secondary camera module, now we can blur the background even your subject is 1-2 meters away (5-10 centimeters for single camera module)

What I did with the S7 is just the usual autofocus mechanism no fancy software algorithms involved, mas shallower lang yung depth of field because of much wider aperture which is fixed at f/1.7
