Please dont update your DSi/XL to 1.4.3 (latest) as some flashcarts were blocked by these updates

What is an "NDS flashcart"?

Flashcarts are used to play NDS roms and homebrews... think of it as a custom firmware of a psp so that it could play isos/homebrews. The good thing about "most" flashcarts, it doesn't brick the unit as the firmware is on the flashcart, not on the NDS itself.

My verdict:
The best flashcart, if you have the money. Lots of emulation to choose from (GBA, SNES, DOS etc). Newest DS roms can be played as it has an auto-patch database, bye bye AP... :P

Acekard2i



My verdict:
Cheaper but gets the job well done. It has AAP (Anti-anti-piracy?) so it could play new NDS roms with AP with no problems at all.

IEdge/Edge



My verdict:
Great flashcart, last year.... Now, it had trouble on updating its firmware so it only rely on using AP patch/fix. It had delayed firmware updates but it better late than never. A clone of CycloDS.

R4 DS Revolution (Not to be confused with R4i[insert word here] clone)



My verdict:
Last original firmware update was 1.18. It was almost the laughing stock of all flashcart last year or two ago. But then comes the wood R4 firmware update (a firmware clone of acekard) it skyrockets the DS roms compatibility. If you got an R4 like this, get the wood firmware update asap!

Other good R4 flashcarts were R4iDSN, R4iGold and R4iLS as they are compatible with wood R4 firmware

DSTT/DSTTi



My verdict:
This cart had the best compatibility on homebrew applications/games but DS roms compatibility sucks.... well as long as you are using retrogamefan's update and fixes, you will be fine. :P

Too many clones, some of them are worth it... most of them sucks.

Kasi po simula ng inupgrade ko yung dsi xl ko sa ver 1.4.3U hindi na gumana ang flash cart ko at ang mga game sa micro sd ko po, thanks in advance po..Nanawagan din po ako sa lahat ng Masters na knowledgeable po about this issue..

Pag Supercard DS Two ba kailangan din muna i-update bago mag update ng firmware ng 3DS?

And by the way, gaano ba ka-frequent ang updates ng 3DS firmware?
Automatic ba ang updates o may choice ka whether or not to accept the update?

Wala pa akong 3DS pero I'm planning to get one by the end of the year. Gusto ko lang sana munang malaman 'tong mga bagay na 'to bago ako gumastos.

mas maganda talaga DSTWO sa lahat. May kamahalan pero OK na rin. Hindi na sakit sa ulo sa pag hanap ng solution sa mga bagong games. Katulad na lang ng nabili ko sa CDRKING nun, umaandar nga kaso naman hindi updated, masama pa dun ayaw gumana ng latest games.

Kaya eto naka DSTWO yung DSi ko, medyo hindi ko nga lang nagagamit yung iba pang potential features nito. Hanggang DS, DSi games lang talaga ang gamit ko dito.

@ExcL: nasa sayo yung kung gusto mong iupdate ang 3DS mo kaso kung may gusto kang idownload sa nintendo eshop mapipilitan kang magupdate! kasi ang update ng 3DS is once na nagconnect ka sa Eshop tatanungin ka nya kung gusto mong iupdate...kung ayaw mo ok lang pero hindi ka makakaaccess sa eshop!

@sa Supercard DStwo - ok lang kahit hindi basta updated lagi ang Supercard DStwo mo yun nga lang kahit hanggang ngayon di na bumaba ang price ng DStwo 2.2k pa rin ang price nya...yung DStwo ko na sa DSi lang di nagagalaw

Sobrang needed ba yung mga stuff sa eShop?
Since di rin naman ako pala-connect sa Wi-Fi dahil... di naman ako nasanay.

Sa ngayon DS games palang ang habol ko pero gusto ko rin naman na 3DS na yung system.
Natatakot kasi ako na baka hindi na magamit yung flashcart pag na-update yung 3DS tapos wala pa palang firmware update yung flashcart.
Eh diba sa DS din ina-update yung flashcart? So pano pala ako mag a-update ng firmware kung wala naman akong extrang DS.

@ExcL: yung iba kasing features ng 3DS kasama sa latest updates kaya kung outdated yung firmware mo wala yung ibang mga features na kalalagay lang nila...saka yung mga free games minsan or demos nandun sa eshop!

@yung sa flashcart naman di ko lang sure kung need mo nga ng extra na DS to run the new updates..unless pagkaupdate mo kahit sa latest firmware ng 3DS gumana sya!

Tingin mo ba by December or next year ok na lahat ng updates? Bakit kasi di pa nila nilahat yung features nung nirelease yung 3DS eh.

Anyway, kung halimbawa bigla kong na-update yung 3DS firmware ko tapos di ko pa pala naa-update yung firmware ng flashcart at di na binasa yung flashcart ko, may magagawa pa ba ako bukod sa bumili ng bagong flashcart?

@ExcL: yung updates ng nintento biglaan lang yun kung meron kaya hindi mo alam kung kelan magkakaroon..sa flashcart naman kung hindi na sya gumana magwait ka muna sa website nila kung meron na silang update sa latest firmware pero kung wala wag ka munang maguupdate kung gusto mong magamit pa yung flashcart mo! ako kasi yung mga flashcart ko sa DS ko lang ginagamit pero sa 3DS hindi ako nagamit kahit tinesting man lang

I see. Mas kailangan palang maingat ka dito unlike sa PSP.
Wait, ba't di mo pa tinry sa 3DS, sir? Harmful ba?
Nagdadalwang isip tuloy ako kung 3DS o DS lite ang bibilhin ko kasi either ways, sa flashcarts parin ako didipende. Walang pambili ng original games eh.

May key combination para madisplay yung DS games sa 3DS nang naka-native resolution ah. Kaso nga lang may black borders.

I'm still deciding kung 3DS o DS lite ang bibilhin ko. Sana magkaroon na ng flashcarts for 3DS games.
I'm a big pokefan din kasi. Sinubaybayan ko yung Pokemon games mula pa dun sa original na Japanese green version sa Gameboy hanggang sa Emerald version sa GBA. Di ako makatiis na di ko malaro yung Diamond and Pearl at saka yung Black and White. Napag iiwanan ako.

At sana may makita pa akong nagbebenta ng second hand na 3DS na mura.

Pahelp naman po, naupdate kasi ng pinsan ko ang nintendo DSi XL niya to 1.4.3U ayaw na gumana ng R4i revolution ang sabi, "An error has occurred. Press and hold the Power Button to turn the system off. Please see the Nintendo DSi Operations Manual for help troubleshooting." nagdownload na ako ng firmware sa "www.r4i-fifa.com" na nakalagay na website sa flash cart, ganun pa rin, error message. please help. thanks.

hindi supported ang ibang flashcarts sa higher firmware... kaya hindi advisable mag update ng DSi/XL/3DS kung hindi maganda ang flashcart mo.


konti lang kasi ang mga magagandang flashcarts for those said units.
