[TUT]Exact Partition for your Hard Disk

This tutorial applies to your hard disk before installing windows.

In windows xp.

In windows 7.

Instructions:
1. Use the exact amount given in the list below. Don't worry if the size automatically changed when you enter the size just put it.
2. Normally continue your installation.
3. Wait until windows is fully installed.
4. Then check your hard disk if it is in exact size by right clicking it then properties. (see attachment below)

List:
5G = 5,130
10G = 10,250
20G = 20,500
40G = 40,975
80G = 81,950
100G = 102,500
200G = 205,000

Note: Make sure to format your hdd using NTFS or else it won't work.

Tama yan. BINARY ang ginagamit kaya ganito: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024 yung 1024 yan yung 1Gb.

Tama yan. BINARY ang ginagamit kaya ganito: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024 yung 1024 yan yung 1Gb.

It's the same. Just use 1024 and be specific on the amount.
Convert TB to GB.

1TB = 1000GB

1000 x 1024 = 1,024,000

2TB = 2000GB
3TB = 3000GB

1024 tricks ang tawag dyan..
Example
80 gig
gagawin un 20 gig na partition by 1024 x 20 = ?
the answer is the amount of your multiply by 20 x 1024

Suggestion ko po.

Create a partition to windows file.
50 GB (NTFS) then apply mo ung sinabi na calculation ni topic starter para tama ung sukat.
Medyo malaki ba ung space na kailangan? Need mo kc yan para sa future updates po.


Pagkatapos niyan partition to large programs naman
70 GB (NTFS) kasama na diya ung mga kanta, palabas, at mga personal documents.


At ang pinakahuli (Optional - kung nagamit ka ng backup software)
30 GB (FAT32/NTFS) para sa windows backup image.
150 * 0.20 = 30
Sabi kc nila dapat may 20 percent kang space ng hard drive mo para sa backup images mo.
Dito muna store ung mga gagawin mong backup sa laptop mo. Bakit dalawa choices mo sa file types kasi kapag fat32 ka less fragment daw batay sa mga na-research ko kaya hindi mo na sya masayado isasama sa disk defrag maintence mo. Kapag NTFS naman mataas ang security pwede mo i-lock ung partition na un kung ikaw ung tipong mataguin ng files (ano kaya matatago mo sa backup partition peace).


Pero ang lahat ng iyan ay depende pa rin sayo kung susundin mo. Batay yan kasi sa experience ko. Malay mo may mas maganda ka pang pwede maging setup sa partition mo XD.


**Paalala
Wag mong gawin FAT32 ang windows partition mo sa pag-aakalang bibilis laptop mo.
NTFS (New Technology File System) na kc ang requirement ng windows xp and later versions para sa drive.

Yes. You can apply it in your external hd and even flash drives, just remember to use a NTFS file system..
