hello sir,. na setup ko na ung unit ko ung specs i5 3210M 2.5 RAM 8gb intel HD 4000 ng EXP GDC using m-PCie slot GT220 ung graphics gumana naman sya pero gumagamit sya ng external monitor kaya d sya portable hehehe kaya ang tanung ko sir anong graphics card ang gagamitin ko para ung monitor ng laptop ko ang gagamitin ko?

i think you missed the idea of adding an external GPU to your laptop, hindi na talaga magiging portable dahil ang desktop GPU ay malaki but it will add a lot of power to your PC. it will be some sort of docking station na.
also, mahina naman yang nilagay mo na GPU, sana kahit geforce 750Ti man lang to run the latest games.

I know sir, kakabili ko lng and kakatest lang din kaya for testing muna ung gt220 hahaha pero i think meron mga graphic cards n mababawasan ka ng konting performance pero gagamitin nya ung monitor ng laptop i think sa mga GTX card family mga un eh pero gusto ko sana malaman ano ung mga cards dun sa gtx na seldom lang yung error yung compatible ba

that defeats the purpose of an external GPU
kasi yung processing dapat dadaan sa video output ng external GPU at hindi sa built-in, kaya kelangan mo ng separate monitor.
no external processing will be done otherwise.
i think yung thunderbolt implementation, kaya yung sinasabi mo not sure though

Hello at congrats! Pakipost naman yung picture at specs ng setup mo pag maayos na siya.

Tama kang may mga eGPU systems na pwedeng mag-reroute pabalik sa Laptop screen para maging "portable." Ang problema nito, naaayon sa chipset kung pwede o hindi ma-reroute. Gamit kasi natin yung Nvidia Optimus technology para paganahin ito.

Ang huli kong balita, may software na kaya rin gawin ang pag-reroute nito para sa mga AMD chipsets, at non-Optimus Intel systems. Kaso hindi ko alam paano ayusin 'yon.

Yes, it's the same Razer eGPU unit in the picture, but my focus was on the NUC system with TB3. We can always wait for a China/Taiwan made TB3 DIY adapter to avoid an overpriced Razer accessory, but it's nice to know that TB3 eGPU units can now be as compact as the current Akitio TB2 adapter + Mac Mini + Mini GPU implementation.

unahin ko siguro i7 laptop na may thunderbolt 3 and SSD pag di na ako masaya sa performance ng laptop ko
then, pag makachamba ng 2nd hand 980Ti na mura

Pareho po ata yang CPU sa Lenovo T400 ko dati. Napagana ko siya, pero sakit sa ulo ang pag-setup kasi kailangan mo ng specific version ng Nvidia driver na working pa yung Optimus. Try mo pong magtanong sa eGPU forum.

Hi sir. No local sellers po at the moment kaya online lang muna siya. If using a Macbook 2012, you might be better off with the Akitio TB2 adapter. Apple eGPU Forum

you can either check your laptop specifications and manual for the following:

Where does this Desktop GPU adapter connect to my laptop?

PCIe laptop ports:

• mini PCIe slot (usual attachment of your WiFi/WWAN card)
• or 34mm/54mm Expresscard slot (a slot that connects directly to the Motherboard's PCIe)
• or Thunderbolt port (available in Macbooks and Ultrabooks)
• or M.2 slot

otherwise, kelangan mo buksan yung laptop mo to see if there really is a usable port for eGPU
