Before q gmitin c PFsense.. ang nag aappear n DNS Server q ay 192.168.1.2

Note:
DC Server : 192.168.1.2
DHCP Server : 192.168.1.2
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
DNS SErver: 192.168.1.2

aun..

then after ng installation q ng PFsense
ung kinukuha n DNS Server n ng unit ay 192.168.1.1 (PFsense na)

i need to ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

pra lng bumalik s 192.168.1.2 and DNS Server q.. (ng mga unit)

What you need?

As mentioned on my post pfSense Overview, you need at least basic knowledge and understanding of Computer Hardware and Networking.
Your pfSense box with 2 Network Cards (NIC). Intel NICs are most recommended.
Basic research and reading skills. (Google)

Kahit anong OS nyo po, mabubura po yan as in reformated burado lahat pag ininstallan mo ng pfSense ...
Para san po pfSense if wala po kayo internet? san mo gagamitin pfSense? firewall/router po kasi pfSense. kahit anong ISP mo okay lang.

Official packages lang po ang gamit ko sa setup ko kaya yun lang din ang makikita nyo sa guides ko (no Lusca)

pwede po kayo mag ask or mag comment sa blog post ko mismo or dito.. pero di ko po sure if masasagot at alam ko ang lahat.. newbie lang din po ako...

pwede po mag contribute ng ideas and other helpful materials ang lahat..

about my set up : basic firewalling and routing + web content filtering / blocking + captive portal lang po ang gamit ko kay pfSense sa ngayon.. NO CACHING po. sorry .


ISP > globe modem > pfSense > switch > clients PCs


My pfSense specs:

CPU - Pentium4 3.0Ghz
Board - Old Gigabyte socket775
RAM - 4Gig DDR2 (2x2G)
HDD - Seagate 160G SATA
NIC - 2 Intel Pro/100+

NEXT guide po ay HOW TO SET UP CAPTIVE PORTAL ... gumamit po ako ng WindowsServer Active Directory dito... bago magkarun ng internet connection, need muna nila mag log sa portal using their AD credentials.... so basically mag rereflect sa GUI logs ang username nila and IP.. plus tandem ng SQUID+SQUIDGUARD = no escape.. i mean pag nag open sila ng badsites like Pornsites, huli na agad if sino, anong station, anong oras at anong sites ang inopen .. abangan nyo po if interested kayo

sa virtual pfsense nyo po... dalawang NIC dapat ang i-enable... set NIC1 to Bridge.. set NIC2 to Internal Network...

sa virtual windows/linux pc nyo po... isang NIC lang, then set the network to Internal Network...

(ganyan po ang network seetings ko, try nyo lang din )

TS pano gagawin sa setup ng pfsense para ung loading ng laro like lol is bumilis? ang bagal kc if magsstart plang, ang tagal bago makapasok....thanks...not really sure if sa pfsense nga ang may prob or sa internet connection ko, im using pldt wired 5-6mb, 13units of pc pero kahit 8 plang ang gumagana ang tagal po bago magload ng laro, pati ung browsing mabagal din, pero mababa nmn po ang ping...kahit na mababa minsan naglolog pa rin sila, hindi po ako nakadiskless, ang set up ko po sa pfsense traffic shapper dl 500 upload 250, timer na gamit ko po is gcafe.ung pldt ko nakabriged na rin po sa setting. madalas lang din po ito mangyari if kakaopen ko lang ng pc(server)magkasama po ang server ko at pfsense, advisable po ba na wag nalng i-off ang server pra d nababgo ang setting ni pfsense....pasensya dami ko tanong newie user lang po ako sa pfsense....
