[TUTORIALS] Ubuntu (a Debian/GNU Linux Distribution)

Which step? And what Ubuntu version are you using? For Ubuntu 10.10 onwards, "plug-and-play" na dapat yan. What is the model of the USB Modem?

The method of connecting to a VPN using the script developed by lianne_john only works with a specific kernel version. He mentioned it on his thread. So if you're using an Ubuntu version that is different, or same Ubuntu version but using a different kernel version, then the python script will not work for you. This is because the script that he wrote is made for a specific kernel version only.

Patulong sana and some advice before i proceed, will be using Ubuntu Server 10.04 LTS

Balak sana naming mag setup ng DNS server with Active Directory and File Sharing sa mga Windows User.

If ever meron kayong step by step instruction dyan on how to this, bali setup lang muna namin temporary

11.04 ubuntu

Visit the first page.

You can also try wePN vpn.

http://s1.wepn.info/

No need registration.
1. You have to install network managers plugins for openvpn if gagamitin mo is openvpn

Code:
$ sudo apt-get install network-manager-openvpn
2. Download the configuration files dun sa page nila.
3. Open your network-manager applet -> VPN Connections -> configure VPN. Import the configuration files.
4. Accept the agreement on the site to get a username and password.
5. Supply the username and password dun sa VPN configuration dialog.
6. Close the dialog, then click the VPN configuration in the applet.
7. Wait to connect.

Drawback, everytime you disconnect with the vpn, you need to ask for a new username or password. :D

5 days to go e re-release na ang UBUNTU 11.10  Mga ka-SB ano bang masasabi nyo sang-ayon ba kayo sa

bagong Unity desktop ng Ubuntu 11.10 or mas gusto nyo yun dating Gnome desktop?

Gnome 3 rocks :). I go to fedora because of unity and then gnome 3 rocks my linux desktop

Classic pa rin...
nahihilo ako sa unity....
pero maganda yung idea nya...
interface lang siguro ang issue....

Lucid user....

For me, Unity rocks especially on touch screen devices. For my desktop, Gnome classic with Compiz. :D First time na lumabas ang Unity interface is on Ubuntu 10.04 Notebook Edition. Okay naman siya and in fact I was impressed...pero mas "complete" ang experience kapag touch screen ang gamit. :)

The thing is we use a desktop, not a big touch screen cellphone aka "tablet" :)

Agree. There are some computer systems though that have touch screen monitors (both desktop and netbooks), although those are branded PCs. I have installed Ubuntu and ran Unity on those devices and they're good. :)

A particular netbook that I liked (with Ubuntu's Unity interface) is the Lenovo S10-3T. It's a netbook that can also function as a tablet (by swiveling the monitor). Puwede. :)
