How to make your own home solar. With Pictures + solar book

FYI: On-line or double conversion UPS designs accept input power with relatively wide variations in voltage and frequency. An on-line UPS actually re-develops the waveform. The AC input from either the mains or a standby generator is first converted to DC by the rectifier. The DC current is used to charge the battery. During an outage, DC current from the batteries is reformed by an inverter back to perfect sine-wave AC for the critical load. Newer models also use power factor correction to provide an even wider input voltage range. Because of this double conversion (AC to DC, then DC to AC), variations in the input frequency are of little concern. Therefore the same frequency variations that would cause an off-line or a line-interactive UPS to transfer to battery power have no effect on the on-line UPS.

Example is the Australian brand below:

After two years and 11 months... my MPPT charge controller 10A (shown below) is going to retire because the battery led indicators are already not accurate or the readings are already not reliable and sometimes not working anymore.

btw, below is my backup replacement PWM charge controller (KTF1220) using 100W panel to charge 70AH solar master battery.

Thanks for this update.... sad to see that even a brand like Lumiax (I thought it was a good brand) disfunctions after only 3 years...

I think it depends on the quality of the inverter and the bulbs... For sure 12 volts LED bulbs without inverter last longer... I have 12 volts bulbs direct to batteries, bulbs in 220 volts connected to a modified wave inverter and I had also 220 volts connected to a pure sine wave.... up to now I can't say if there is a difference as all of them are still ok after several years... I had cheap LED connected on AC that died after few months only!!

Sir I have 1. 2 pcs. solar panel with 100w each
2. 150 ah battery
tanong po 1. ano bang magandang inverter off grid inverter or on grid tie inverter
2. maganda po ito "Y&H 600W Off Grid Inverter, 12VDC to AC220V Surge Power 1200W Pure Sine Wave Inverter for Solar or Wind Power System CZ-600W-12V-220V - intl" anong ibig sabihin ng 600w Off Grid Inverter at saka Surge Power 1200w - maganda na ba itong gamitin?

Inverters are rated in both "continuous" and "surge" wattage. The "surge" could be 2x or 3x the rated wattage. For example, as the motor of a 500W water pump is turned on the surge could be 1000 - 1500W. Therefore, the Y&H Off Grid Inverter is rated as 600W "continuous" and 1200W "surge".

& gridtie inverter lang good to go ka na.yung ma se save mo monthly ipunin lang muna para in the future

First off grid or tie grid: it depends where you are... For a legit tie-grid connection, I think only Meralco allows it. Otherwise it's at your own risk!
The inverter power is related to the appliances you are going to use. If you want to use it with a 100 watt appliance for example, you don't need a 600 watt inverter but if the total wattage of the appliances your are going to use is around 500 watts (with not more than 1200 watt surge - as explained by Sir Tristan) the the 600 watt should be ok. Be aware that the bigger the inverter, the more it consumes.
Regarding the controller, read Sir Tristan remark!
